Ranking Every AEW Event Through October 31 on the Wrestling Size Chart

All Elite Wrestling is entering one of the busiest and potentially most important stretches of its 2026 calendar.

Beginning with AEW Dynamite on September 16 and running through the end of October, AEW has a schedule that includes its weekly television programs, combined Dynamite and Collision tapings, an international Grand Slam event, two major pay-per-views and a Halloween-themed television special.

There are 12 announced AEW wrestling events between September 16 and October 31. AEW’s official calendar lists stops in Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, France, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina and Missouri during that span.

But all wrestling events are not created equal.

So instead of simply listing the schedule, we are borrowing the basic three-size concept made famous by Cold Stone Creamery and translating it completely into professional wrestling terminology.

Forget “Like It,” “Love It” and “Gotta Have It.”

Our wrestling scale is:

STRONG MIDCARD — A worthwhile show that should advance storylines and deliver entertaining wrestling, but probably isn’t something you rearrange your entire schedule around.

CO-MAIN EVENT — An important show with significant storyline implications, a special presentation or a particularly strong position on the AEW calendar.

WORLD TITLE MAIN EVENT — The biggest events. These are the shows around which AEW’s schedule is built. If you only have time for a few events, these are the ones carrying the greatest significance.

With that established, here is our ranking of every announced AEW wrestling event from September 16 through October 31.

12. AEW Collision — October 24

LJVM Coliseum — Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Rating: STRONG MIDCARD

There is nothing inherently wrong with the October 24 edition of Collision. Its problem in these rankings is simply where it falls.

The show takes place exactly one week after WrestleDream and four days before AEW’s Fright Night television special in St. Louis. AEW’s official calendar currently lists Collision at LJVM Coliseum with a 7:30 p.m. ET start.

That positioning creates the possibility that Winston-Salem becomes an important bridge between WrestleDream fallout and whatever AEW has planned for Fright Night.

At the moment, however, it looks more like a solid weekly television stop than one of the destination events of this stretch.

Verdict: Strong Midcard.

11. AEW Collision — October 3

Truist Arena — Highland Heights, Kentucky

Rating: STRONG MIDCARD

Northern Kentucky gets AEW Collision on October 3 at Truist Arena in Highland Heights, with AEW listing a 7:30 p.m. ET start.

This is an intriguing date because it falls one week after All Out and only three days before Grand Slam: France.

That means the show could serve two purposes.

AEW will still be dealing with the aftermath of All Out while simultaneously preparing for one of the most unusual television events in company history in Paris.

Depending on what happens at All Out, Highland Heights could end up receiving several important storyline developments.

For now, however, it remains a regular Collision surrounded by bigger events.

Verdict: Strong Midcard with sleeper potential.

10. AEW Collision — September 19

Charleston Coliseum — Charleston, West Virginia

Rating: STRONG MIDCARD

September 19 puts Collision only one week away from All Out.

That alone makes Charleston more interesting than an ordinary Saturday television show.

AEW will have very little time remaining to establish final motivations, add matches and strengthen the existing programs heading into Chicago.

The September 23 combined Dynamite and Collision event in Indianapolis will be the final major television stop before the pay-per-view, which prevents Charleston from moving higher in our rankings.

Still, when you’re seven days away from a major PPV, almost everything on television has the potential to matter.

Verdict: Strong Midcard.

9. AEW Dynamite — October 21

Watsco Center — Coral Gables, Florida

Rating: STRONG MIDCARD

Sometimes the most interesting wrestling television isn’t the show before the pay-per-view.

It’s the show immediately afterward.

AEW Dynamite heads to the Watsco Center on October 21, four days after WrestleDream.

That creates plenty of possibilities.

New champions could appear. Previous rivalries could end. New challengers could emerge. Wrestlers who were absent from the PPV could return. AEW could immediately establish the direction toward November’s major events.

Post-PPV television has traditionally been one of professional wrestling’s best opportunities to reset the board.

Without knowing the WrestleDream results, it is impossible to know exactly how significant Coral Gables will become.

Verdict: Strong Midcard, but capable of moving up quickly.

8. AEW Dynamite — September 30

Petersen Events Center — Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Rating: STRONG MIDCARD

Everything said about Coral Gables also applies to Pittsburgh.

September 30 will be the first Dynamite after All Out.

That alone makes this episode worth watching.

AEW’s biggest story entering All Out is the AEW World Championship rivalry between champion Will Ospreay and challenger Jon Moxley. AEW officially announced the championship match after Ospreay won the title from Kenny Omega at All In: London on August 30.

Whatever happens between Ospreay and Moxley could dramatically affect the September 30 Dynamite.

Pittsburgh will also begin the immediate build toward Grand Slam: France.

That gives this show an important transitional role even if it isn’t one of AEW’s officially branded specials.

Verdict: Strong Midcard bordering on Co-Main Event.

7. AEW Dynamite — September 16

Chartway Arena — Norfolk, Virginia

Rating: CO-MAIN EVENT

The rankings become much more difficult here.

Tonight’s Dynamite from Norfolk takes place only 10 days before All Out. AEW lists the event at Chartway Arena with a 7:30 p.m. ET event start.

Most importantly, AEW already has its World Championship match established for Chicago.

Will Ospreay is the reigning AEW World Champion after defeating Kenny Omega at Wembley Stadium, and Jon Moxley is scheduled to challenge him at All Out.

That means almost everything involving the company’s main-event scene between now and September 26 has additional importance.

Norfolk isn’t a PPV.

It isn’t a branded special.

But this close to All Out, Dynamite should be heavily involved in pushing AEW’s biggest programs toward Chicago.

Verdict: Co-Main Event.

6. AEW Dynamite — October 14

Wolstein Center — Cleveland, Ohio

Rating: CO-MAIN EVENT

Cleveland has one enormous advantage over several shows ranked below it.

Timing.

AEW Dynamite takes place at the Wolstein Center on Wednesday, October 14. WrestleDream takes place three days later on Saturday, October 17.

That effectively makes Cleveland the final Dynamite before the PPV.

Those episodes traditionally carry added importance because there is no longer much time to sell the audience on the biggest matches.

Expect final confrontations, promos and angles designed specifically to create anticipation for Orlando.

A normal Dynamite might belong in our Strong Midcard category.

A Dynamite three days before WrestleDream receives the upgrade.

Verdict: Co-Main Event.

5. AEW Fright Night: Dynamite & Collision — October 28

Chaifetz Arena — St. Louis, Missouri

Rating: CO-MAIN EVENT

Now we reach the first true specialty television event.

AEW is advertising October 28 as Fright Night: Dynamite & Collision at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, with the event beginning at 6:30 p.m. CT.

The branding matters.

Professional wrestling companies have long used holiday-themed episodes to make weekly television feel different from an ordinary broadcast. Halloween provides AEW with plenty of possibilities in terms of production, presentation, stipulations and storyline creativity.

Combining Dynamite and Collision also increases the importance of the live event itself.

It isn’t quite PPV territory, but it is clearly being presented as something more substantial than another stop on the weekly schedule.

Verdict: Co-Main Event.

4. AEW Dynamite/Collision — September 23

Fishers Event Center — Indianapolis, Indiana

Rating: CO-MAIN EVENT

If you are looking for the television event with the greatest potential before All Out, Indianapolis is probably it.

AEW brings Dynamite and Collision to Fishers Event Center on September 23. All Out takes place three days later.

That combination makes Indianapolis the natural location for the final major push toward Chicago.

Ospreay and Moxley should be approaching the conclusion of the build to their AEW World Championship match. Other All Out programs should be receiving their final developments as well.

Fans attending also get the additional attraction of a combined Dynamite/Collision event rather than a standard single-show taping.

If you live within driving distance of Indianapolis, this is one of the more attractive television tickets on the schedule.

Verdict: Co-Main Event — and extremely close to World Title Main Event status.

3. AEW Grand Slam: France — October 6

Adidas Arena — Paris, France

Rating: WORLD TITLE MAIN EVENT

Now we enter the top tier.

Grand Slam: France isn’t simply another overseas episode of Dynamite.

AEW officially announced that October 6 will mark the first AEW live event ever held in France.

The event will take place at Adidas Arena in Paris and will feature tapings of both Dynamite and Collision.

That historical element immediately separates Grand Slam: France from the normal weekly schedule.

AEW has increasingly developed an international identity, and Paris provides another major European market for the company.

There is also something inherently exciting about professional wrestling entering a new market. The audience can create a different atmosphere, wrestlers can feel like bigger stars and the promotion has incentive to present a card worthy of the occasion.

Whatever matches eventually fill out the show, AEW’s first event in France is significant enough to receive our highest rating.

Verdict: World Title Main Event.

2. AEW WrestleDream — October 17

Addition Financial Arena — Orlando, Florida

Rating: WORLD TITLE MAIN EVENT

At number two is WrestleDream.

AEW’s official schedule lists the PPV for October 17 at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando with a 7 p.m. ET event start.

There is an important distinction between ranking an announced card and ranking an event’s overall importance.

As of September 16, there is still plenty of time for the WrestleDream lineup to develop.

But a full AEW PPV automatically carries greater stakes than the overwhelming majority of weekly television episodes.

Championship matches, long-term storyline conclusions and major developments are far more likely to be concentrated on these premium events.

The October schedule will essentially build toward WrestleDream before transitioning into the final weeks of the month and eventually November.

Once the complete card is established, WrestleDream could even challenge for the number-one position.

For now, it sits just behind All Out.

Verdict: World Title Main Event.

1. AEW All Out — September 26

NOW Arena — Chicago, Illinois

Rating: WORLD TITLE MAIN EVENT

This is the easy choice for number one right now.

AEW All Out takes place Saturday, September 26 at NOW Arena in the Chicago market. AEW’s event listing has the arena event beginning at 6 p.m. CT, while its PPV information lists the main broadcast for 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

More importantly, All Out already has a legitimate PPV centerpiece.

AEW World Champion Will Ospreay vs. Jon Moxley.

Ospreay defeated Kenny Omega at All In: London on August 30 to become AEW World Champion. Days later, AEW established Moxley as his All Out challenger.

That is exactly the type of match around which a major wrestling show can be constructed.

It features AEW’s newly crowned champion defending against one of the most accomplished and recognizable wrestlers in company history.

All Out also benefits from being the immediate destination toward which AEW television is currently building.

Norfolk matters because of All Out.

Charleston matters because of All Out.

Indianapolis matters because of All Out.

That tells you everything you need to know about which show currently sits at the top of the schedule.

Verdict: World Title Main Event — the biggest AEW event between now and the end of October.

The Final Wrestling Size Chart

AEW’s next six weeks offer a little bit of everything.

The Strong Midcard category contains Charleston, Pittsburgh, Highland Heights, Coral Gables and Winston-Salem. Those shows might not carry the branding or prestige of the PPVs, but any of them could jump up the rankings once matches are announced.

The Co-Main Event group features Norfolk, Indianapolis, Cleveland and Fright Night in St. Louis. These events benefit from their placement near PPVs, their combined television formats or their special branding.

Then there are the three World Title Main Events.

Grand Slam: France is historic because AEW has never held a live event in France before.

WrestleDream is one of the company’s major PPVs and will become increasingly important as the card takes shape.

And All Out stands above everything else right now.

It has the Chicago setting, the PPV platform and, most importantly, an AEW World Championship match between Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley already established.

So if we’re walking up to the imaginary wrestling concession stand and ordering our AEW schedule by size, there is no debate about the largest serving.

All Out is the World Title Main Event.

But with WrestleDream, Grand Slam: France, Fright Night and several strategically placed episodes of Dynamite and Collision still ahead, AEW has plenty of opportunities to shake up these rankings before Halloween.

That’s what makes the schedule interesting.

In professional wrestling, today’s Strong Midcard can become tomorrow’s Main Event with one championship match, one surprise appearance or one unforgettable storyline development.

And from September 16 through October 31, AEW has 12 opportunities to make exactly that happen.
