Nevada-based gaming firm International Game Technology (IGT) has announced a new multi-year deal with New Mexico’s Pueblo of Santa Ana tribe to power Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel with its IGT PlaySports platform.
IGT president of sports betting Joe Asher said the new partnership would enhance the sports betting experience of the casino’s visitors. Asher added that the company was “thrilled” to partner with the casino.

The Bernalillo-based casino began to offer sports betting services to its patrons several years ago, claiming to be the first sportsbook in the state. IGT will provide not only self-service betting kiosks but also trading advisory services to improve the casino’s strategic advantages in the sports betting market.
Expanding gaming products outreach
Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel CEO John Cirrincione said IGT technology is reliable and scalable, adding that it will boost the performance of the casino’s sportsbook. Cirrincione also mentioned that IGT technology would help his casino deliver more engaging experiences for its sports bettors.
This new deal helps IGT expand the outreach of its gaming products. Currently, over 80 gambling venues across the U.S. and Canada use its innovative gaming platform. In addition to servicing tribal casinos, IGT works with commercial gaming operators and state-run lotteries. The company said it had processed over $6 billion in wagers to date.
IGT claims that the PlaySports platform offers several benefits for sportsbook operators such as player-focused services, high-performing self-service tools and quick time-to-market. The gaming tech firm emphasizes that flexibility is key to its PlaySports platform.
It allows customers to choose between the convenience of IGT’s turnkey solutions and “a la carte” services. IGT notes that providing a flexible platform is necessary as the sports betting industry constantly evolves.
All IGT business customers receive marketing support from the company and access to its Sports Betting Academy, which helps sportsbook operators improve the quality of their services.
