Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT, is transforming into a comprehensive destination resort. To rival Las Vegas and Atlantic City, it is enhancing its amenities.
Foxwoods CEO Jason Guyot discussed the brand’s evolution as it seeks global gaming recognition.
“We’ve made strides toward attracting diverse demographics to Foxwoods through a series of expansions and openings,” Guyot said. “As we continue to add new amenities to our property, one thing we wanted to keep in mind is gaming, as it’s our core business.”
According to Guyot, the transformation was the brand’s focus as it started to “visualize the establishment of a contemporary, state-of-the-art casino at the heart of our property, bolstered by innovative technology.”
Guyot also emphasized that their vision is further solidified with the introduction of Hell’s Kitchen, an upscale dining establishment in collaboration with renowned chef Gordon Ramsay.
According to him, their strategy involves merging state-of-the-art gaming facilities with Ramsay’s curated dining venues and Wahlburgers by the Wahlberg brothers. This approach aims to create an exceptional entertainment hub while accommodating a broad range of guests.
Guyot, who has been with the Foxwoods team for 21 years, also shared insights into the strategic goals behind the expansion. He mentioned his involvement in development dating back to 2016, focusing on introducing non-gaming offerings to boost competitiveness. Since taking on his current role, he has accelerated this evolution and explored innovative ways to compete in the market.
“When we opened in 1992, we were the region’s only casino outside Atlantic City and Las Vegas. Fast forward to 2023, and we’re now surrounded by over 15 prominent contenders along the East Coast,” Guyot said.
In discussing Hell’s Kitchen, Foxwoods highlighted the unique features that distinguish it from other locations. Its strategic placement is at the center of its evolving property, which is undergoing significant development, with Hell’s Kitchen as a focal point.
The design collaboration with Gordon Ramsay North America also resulted in signature elements such as Italian tile with red and blue flames in the kitchen area and marble basket weave tile in the main dining space.
