Rublev, a quarterfinalist in four grand slams, will be facing Garin. Garin reached the fourth round of the French Open and Wimbledon in 2021. Schwartzman, 2020 French Open semifinalist faces Dimitrov. Dimitrov is a three-time grand semi-finalist but has never been a semifinalist at French (2014 Wimbledon. 2017 Australian Open. 2019 U.S Open). Dimitrov holds a 3-1 edge in head-to-head matches. Dimitrov won in the quarterfinals in China (2016), first round at Wimbledon (2017) and second-round in Madrid (6-0,6-3 in 2022). Cilic, the 2014 US Open champion, will face French tennis legend Gilles Simon who is competing in his last French Open. Simon holds a surprising 6-1 lead against Cilic, with two victories over Cilic at grand slams. Simon won the 2007 Wimbledon first round, 3-6-7-5, 6-4 and 4-6,6-3. He was also victorious in 2014’s Australian Open second round, where he was 5-6, 7-6, 6-7, 6-1 and 6-2.
This matchup features the 2019 United States Open semifinalist and Olympic winner, Belinda Bencic (217), of Switzerland, against Leylah Annie Fernandez (+187), of Canada. Fernandez defeated Bencic in their first meeting at the 2020 FedCup, 7-6, 6-2.
