2022 French Open

After a thrilling five-set victory over Felix Auger Aliassime from Canada in the fourth round, Nadal was able to reach the 2022 French Open. Nadal defeated the ninth seed 3-6 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. Auger-Aliassime was one of the two-seeded opponents Nadal defeated on his way to the quarterfinals. Botic van der Zandschulp, 26th seed from the Netherlands, was the other player Nadal defeated easily, 6-3. Djokovic beat Diego Schwartzman, an Argentine 20th seed, and 2020 French Open semi-finalist, 6-1 in the fourth round. The remaining three quarterfinals

One of the three quarterfinals has Scandinavian players with similar last names. Holger Rune, of Denmark (+170), is the underdog against the eighth seed Casper Ruud (-195).
