US Open Preview

The men’s field seems to be the most competitive in years. This is even though Novak Djokovic, the Wimbledon champion, is still prohibited from entering the United States because of his COVID vaccination status. Check out the best betting sites for betting on the US Open.

The 14-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal now has the opportunity to surpass the Serbian by two in all-time Grand Slam title victories. After suffering a severe abdominal injury in his quarter-final match with Taylor Fritz in Wimbledon, the Spaniard had to pull out of that event. He will now be aiming to win a stupendous 23rd major title as well as a fifth US Open.

The other end of this spectrum is Spanish teenager sensation Carlos Alcaraz, who is highly anticipated to surpass his Gran Slam record of quarterfinal appearances at the French Open earlier in the year and in this competition in 2021. Alcaraz, who is just 19 years old, has the world at his feet. He cracked the ATP Top Five and won four ATP titles in 2022.

Nick Kygrios is another strong competitor. He reached his first Grand Slam final in this year’s defeat to Djokovic at Wimbledon. While the all-English lawn finalist for 2021, Matteo Berrettini will be ready to go after missing the tournament due to COVID infection.

The bookmakers are heavily favored towards Daniil Medvedev, who won the competition last year. After being banned from playing at Wimbledon, however, he is still a heavyweight on the current roster and will try to add another Grand Slam to his record of winning straight sets against Djokovic last season.

Women’s bracket

Serena Williams will dominate this tournament’s early stages after announcing that this would be her last Flushing Meadows appearance and Grand Slam appearance. However, the women’s title appears to be fiercely contested.

Williams is only one title away from equaling Margaret Court’s record, but it would be a fairytale ending. However, a new wave of talent has outclassed Williams, 41 years old.

Most notable is US Open champion Emma Raducanu. At just 19 years old, she has a long and successful career ahead. She could not continue her success as she lost in the second round of Wimbledon, the Australian, and the French Open.

The native American Coco Gauff is looking forward to returning to Flushing Meadows and hopes to improve on her third-round finish last year.

Ons Jabeur was pushed to +1800 on the money line. However, the Turkish hard-hitter is an entertainer on the court and is greatly underestimated in betting markets.

Wimbledon winner Elena Rybakina, will also be in the mix after she won her first Grand Slam victory at age 23. Her formidable serve, powerful ground strokes, and massive frame make her an excellent hard-court competitor.

It is, however, the world’s number one Iga Swiatek that currently dominates the markets. At the beginning of 2022, the Pole was in a dominant form. She won the French Open and reached the final four of the Australian Open. She also went 37 matches unbeaten. Although the 21-year-old was eliminated in the third round at Wimbledon, she has not been able to make a comeback in subsequent tournaments.
