The welcome box will have one of six batches of Coins in it. The smallest batch is 10 Coins, and that’s the one I received. The best outcome is to receive 250 Coins, but the odds of getting those are far longer, as you might guess.
Important facts to know about Wanderluck
As the name might suggest, Wanderluck offers mystery boxes revolving around the subject of travel. You’ll find low, medium, and high risk boxes to buy and unbox, with each box containing one of a selection of items that you can view ahead of buying it.
The contents differ from one box to another, but you could get the Coins used as an in-house virtual currency to buy your mystery boxes. Alternatively, you may be fortunate to get a travel item of some kind or maybe even some entry tickets or a day out somewhere if you get the best outcome.
Better yet, Wanderluck clearly displays the percentage chances of getting each item that might appear in an individual mystery box. The priciest items usually land less than 1% of the time, whereas a Coin prize for their virtual currency is the most common result.

How to claim your free mystery box by joining Wanderluck
I signed up to Wanderluck to see how the whole thing worked, and getting that free box was a breeze. Here’s what you should do if you’d like to sign up too:

You should then find yourself inside your account at Wanderluck. You’ll see that you’ve completed the email verification step, but you will need to complete identity verification as well. You can look around for a while first though if you’d rather do it later.
ID verification
Verification is handled via the Veriff service. You can either scan the QR code with your smartphone to continue, or if you’re already on a smartphone, just enter your number to receive an SMS to start the process. ID verification will show as pending until you complete it. You won’t be able to use all the features provided at Wanderluck until you’ve completed this part.
That’s where you’ll find your free mystery box. Click the button to open it and you’ll receive one of six batches of their in-house Coins. The smallest amount is 10 Coins, which is the amount I got when opening mine. You could potentially get up to 250 Coins though.
Keep an eye on the top of the screen when you’re signed in. You will see your current Coin total there. The smallest mystery box available at the time of writing was available for 1.6 Coins, so you can see that you could get a few of those to open even if you only collected 10 Coins from your introductory free mystery box.

You’ll need to start collecting XP points to make some progress here. Fortunately, I found I immediately became a member of the rewards club simply for signing up at Wanderluck.
It’s unclear how many XPs you’ll receive for doing certain things. However, you can get some whenever you open a mystery box or complete challenges. You’ll begin at Level 1 and you can review how many XPs you’ll need to reach the next level of the program by going into the Rewards tab at the top of the Wanderluck site.
While I reviewed the available info about the program in the help center, I could find no suggestion of how many potential levels there might be either. I suspect there could be quite a few.
🎲 Daily ‘Guess the Price’ Game
You’ll find this inside the rewards area. Click on ‘guess the actual price’ and look at what’s shown. Mine was a stay in a four-star hotel. Depending on how close you get to the actual price, you could receive a mystery box for your trouble.
The box you get depends on which level you’re at and how close your guess was. I received a Bronze Mystery Box on day one, which gave me another Coin to add to my account. You’re likely to just get a teeny prize from any box you get for a close guess, but it’s still good to have. I wonder what you might get if you were precise with your guess though.
The idea is simple enough – open one mystery box every day and you’ll receive a free mystery box on day seven, assuming you don’t miss any days. Note that any boxes you get from the daily game do not count in this respect.
It looks like you’ll need to purchase boxes using your Coins for them to count towards your streak. I’d suggest starting with one box per day if you’re thinking of buying a few – it’ll make it easier to count towards your seven-day streak. If you buy two or more on day one, it will still only count one box opened for that day in terms of the streak requirements.

Once I’d signed into Wanderluck for the first time, I spotted a referral code at the bottom of my account details in the top right of the site. However, I couldn’t find any specific referral program information anywhere.
The terms of service state that they’ll provide in-house Coins for referrals, but it’s possible they haven’t set up the program just yet. I’ll update you here if I find any other details.
