If you’re a fan of Pokemon, One Piece, and digital-card ripping sites, then you’re definitely going to want to read my Shiny review. By the time you finish reading it, you’ll know if this platform is right for you.
This review starts with player safety and security, and from there I’ll cover bonuses, the loyalty rewards program, payment options, the types of cards available, what you can do with your pulled cards, and more. Overall, I enjoyed my time on this site, although I did see some room for improvement. Read on for all the details…

Before I sign up on any type of platform, I like to do some research to check if the site is legit. After I completed my research on this site, I feel confident that the site is legitimate and secure.
For starters, this brand is owned by a company called Shiny Labs, INC. that operates out of Delaware. The company is quite transparent, and you can find plenty of information about it online. In addition, the site also provides clear terms, conditions, and policies, which demonstrates that the company is operating in compliance with the law. You’ll also see that the results can be verified as random, so you know you’re opening cards on a fair site. Lastly, the site itself is secure with a valid security certificate and data-encryption technologies, so your data is safe as well. This level of security is similar to other platforms (check out the Packz.io review for an example).
In other words, this platform is legit, so you can go ahead and tap the banner on this page to get signed up. And that brings us to the next part of my review…
The Shiny bonus for new users is a little different than what you might see on other platforms. Some other sites give you a free pack or box to open, but this one gives you a 5% discount on the first pack you purchase. It’s important to note that typically when you purchase a pack, you have a 1% chance of collecting a bonus card. However, any pack you open using the discount will not provide a free chance to win a bonus card.
Ideally, I’d like to see a no-purchase bonus offered as well, such as a free card with no strings attached. However, this brand offers other opportunities to collect bonuses, including:
This brand offers a 100-level rewards program, with the primary reward being a pack discount. At Level 1 you can collect a $5 discount credit, and as you climb through the levels you’ll get increasingly bigger discounts, which maxes out at a $2500 credit. There are also airdrop rewards on offer, with the allocation to the community based on how many experience points you’ve collected during a specific timeframe.
One thing I really like about this program is that it’s transparent. At any given moment you’ll know exactly how many XP (experience points) you currently have, and how much further you need to go to reach the next level. For example, to get from Level 1 to Level 2, you’ll need 1000 XP. You can collect these points in the following ways:
Note that you can also collect additional XP by completing daily challenges.
Overall, this is a decent rewards program, as the lower levels appear to be obtainable for average users. I’m also satisfied with the rewards primarily in the form of pack discounts, and the air drops are a nice feature too!
And that brings us to the next section, where I’ll share my overall thoughts about the site and the pack-opening experience. Read on…
If you’re familiar with other mystery box or card-ripping sites, then this one should feel fairly familiar both in form and function. All your main links will appear on the left side of your screen, which is accessible via the hamburger menu if you’re on mobile. Sign up is a breeze, as all you have to do is enter your email address and then verify it with a code, or you can use options such as an Abstract or Google login.
Now let’s go through some of the main features of the site…
You’ll find both Pokemon and One Piece cards. Note that the cards are PSA graded, and all digital cards are backed by a real, physical card. Specifically:
Pokemon: There are five options for Pokemon cards, ranging from the $15 Beginner Pack to the $250 Legendary Pack. Just as an example, the pack priced at $50 includes rare cards such as 2024 Mew Ex Special Illustration Rare #232 and 2009 Pikachu Soulsilver Coll-1st Ed. #032, while the more common cards are items like the 1999 Charmander #4 and the 2005 Lombre Deoxys #33 card. Many of these cards have PSA ratings of 8, 9 or 10 and are in mint condition. Overall, there are plenty of cards to keep the collectors happy here.
One Piece: At the time I was creating this review, there was just one One Piece pack available, which is the Grand Line pack priced at $100. The common cards include items like 2025 Trafalgar Law Alternate Art #022 and 2024 Kuzan #121, while the highly sought after cards include 2025 Monkey D. Luffy Dodgers X One Piece Night #010 and 2025 Monkey D. Luffy Manga Alternate Art #118. These are just a few examples out of dozens of options.
It’s important to note that opening packs is one way of acquiring cards on this site. You can also directly purchase cards on the marketplace, which is a good option for when you want a specific card. Buyers pay zero fees on the marketplace, while sellers pay a 4% fee based on the final selling price.
Yes. Before you open a pack, you can find out exactly what types of cards are in the pack, along with your chances of pulling the various cards. The types of cards are divided up into various tiers such as Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Shiny, with each tier having its own odds. For example, in the $25 Pokemon Starter Pack your chances of pulling cards from the various tiers are as follows:
The site also provides the EV for each pack. For example, the $15 Beginner Pack has an EV (expected value) of $15.99, which is favorable.
Once you digitally rip open a pack, your card will go directly to your Vault. From there you have several options as follows:
In other words, you can opt to do nothing with the card. Many collectors choose this option when they’re hoping to get additional cards they want – that way, they can save on shipping. The digital version is represented by an NFT.
This option lets you instantly liquidate any cards you don’t want in exchange for site credits, which you can then use to purchase additional packs. The site offers up to 95% of the card’s value when you take advantage of this option.
You can sell your card without ever having to take physical possession of it. There is no listing fee, but you will be charged a 4% fee based on the selling price after a sale is complete.
Here you can borrow money against your own cards by listing them in the pawn shop for a term of seven days or thirty days. At the end of the term you can reclaim the card by settling the balance, or you can simply keep the funds. This feature is subject to the platform’s available liquidity.
If you want the physical card, the site will ship it globally with tracking and insurance. The digital version of the card (the NFT) is then burned.
I like the wide variety of options available. I especially like the ability to pawn a card, as that’s a feature you rarely see. Note that the feature is only available if the site has enough liquidity to offer this option. Right now, the platform is in its Beta phase, and I expect that as the site grows it will be more likely to have liquidity available to offer this option on a regular basis.
No, not at this time. The site is well optimized for mobile use, so you shouldn’t have any problems opening packs on your phone or other device.
Before you can start opening packs, you’ll need to fund your account. And that brings us to the next part of this review…
This brand offers you multiple ways to fund your account, including using a bank card, your bank account, or cryptocurrency. Take note that the site primarily operates in USDC, so you can either transfer your existing USDC into your onsite wallet, or you can use one of the fiat currency onramps to fund your account, typically through Coinbase.
Shiny doesn’t charge any fees for funding your account, but take note that you will need to pay the typical cryptocurrency/blockchain network fees. In addition, there may be a slight delay due to network congestion before the funds reach your Shiny account.
Overall, I like that they offer fiat currency onramps for those who don’t have USDC on hand. If you’re comfortable with cryptocurrency and the blockchain, then funding your account will be simple. Those who don’t hold USDC may need to take extra steps, such as signing up for Coinbase.
If you have any issues, you can get in touch with the site’s support. Which brings us to the next part of my Shiny review…

If you have a simple question, this site does offer a small collection of FAQs, though they are more geared towards educating you about the site rather than explaining how to do certain things. As such, if you do have a question, it’s likely you’ll need to reach out to support. Here your options are fairly limited, at least compared to Shiny’s competitors. For example, if you’ve read my Card Crush review, then you know that particular website offers telephone support for payment questions alongside a contact form for inquiries.
Shiny provides just one option, which is to tap the “Support” button in the bottom right side of your screen. On many sites, this sort of button leads to an AI agent, where you can be redirected to a human customer service representative. On this site, it simply serves as a place to leave your message, and it takes up to one business day to get a reply. The good news is that when I dropped a question, I received a reply in two hours. That’s a decent response time, and I appreciate that it was much faster than their estimated wait. Nonetheless, I hope they offer live support in the future.
Now a few final thoughts…

The verdict is pretty straightforward for this site: if you enjoy digital pack ripping sites and you’re a Pokemon or One Piece collector, then this platform is a great option for you. The prices are fair, and the entire pack-opening experience is completely transparent. New users can get a discount on their first pack, and active users can get additional discounts through the robust, multi-level rewards program.
When you’re ready to jump in and join me inside the site, all you have to do is tap the Shiny banner on this page to get started!
You need to be at least 18 years old, and you cannot be located in any area where it’s unlawful to use cryptocurrency or own NFTs.
You can go head to head with other card collectors to pull cards, with the person who pulls the top card getting the opportunity to evolve their card to something better. This is one way for battles to occur on these types of platforms – you can read about a slightly different version inside this BigBux review.
Yes and no: At the current time the NFT program is unavailable, so you cannot use them to fund your account. However, the program is expected to resume in the future.
