In my Pick’em review, I’ll cover everything that this social betting and sweepstakes casino combo site has to offer. Have they found a perfect combo, or are they jacks of all trades, but masters of none?
In the end, I’d say they’ve landed somewhere in the middle, with a reasonable number of casino-style games and an interesting DFS-style sweepstakes pick’em system. To start with, you get a fairly modest welcome offer that consists of 50,000 Gold Coins (GC) and 1 Sweeps Coin (SC), followed by up to 75 bonus SC with your first GC purchase.
Pick’em is a sweepstakes casino and social sportsbook all under the one roof. It’s not a unique concept, and has been done before, but they have at least attempted to find a niche corner of the market.
The social casino side of the platform follows the standard dual virtual currency model and contains a reasonable number of slots and other casino-style games from known providers. It’s alright, but dedicated sweepstakes casinos like the one described in my colleague’s Stormrush review are better options.
The social sportsbook operates using a DFS-style pick’em format, which is where the imaginative brand name has evidently come from. You can create your lineup by picking 2 – 6 players from at least two sports teams and making “More” or “Less” predictions on their stat lines.
One thing for sure is that it is the online social sportsbook that I’ve come across to use a DFS model rather than standard social betting. However, while it is fine, it’s also kind of restrictive compared to other social betting sites that have a wider range of markets and wagering options.

When you sign up to this social casino and sportsbook site, you get 50,000 Gold Coins (GC) and 1 Sweeps Coin (SC). Although it’s free, this isn’t considered to be a Pick’em no deposit bonus. As it’s a sweepstakes site that operates using a dual virtual currency model, deposits aren’t possible in the first place.
Instead of deposits, you can purchase additional Gold Coins (GC) in bundles. However, this isn’t necessary, as the site is always free to play.
That said, when you make your first GC purchase, there are some incentives that get you discounts and free bonus SCs. As you can see below, you can get up to 75 SC free the first time you buy. You can also check out the Stormrush promo code for a direct comparison.
| Purchase Offer | What Do You Get? |
| $9.99 | 200k GC + 20 bonus SC |
| $19.99 | 450k GC + 45 bonus SC |
| $44.99 | 750k GC + 75 bonus SC |
While this site doesn’t have as many existing player promos as other sweepstakes casinos and social sportsbooks, there are a few offers you can grab as an existing player. I’ve listed all of these below, and I should note that you don’t need to use a Pick’em promo code to activate any of them.
You can get a small free SC bonus every 24 hours just for logging into your account. If you complete the seven-day login streak, you can build the daily promo up to 0.5 SC. Miss a day, however, and you’ll rest on day 1 of the streak.
Besides the first-purchase welcome offers that I listed above, you can find promotional GC bundles to buy as an existing player. These usually come with free bonus SCs and occasionally additional discounts.
When you make SC sports picks, a small portion is allocated to your coinback bonus, which is credited at the end of the week. However, I should note that this promotion isn’t available to all players and is excluded in some states where picks aren’t available (see below for details).
You can send a handwritten request on a postcard by mail to receive 3 SCs on your account for free. Make sure to follow the exact instructions in the Sweepstakes Rules, as even a small mistake could mean you miss out.
If your Gold Coins (GC) balance hits zero, you’ll get 1,000 GC free refills so you can keep playing for free and for fun.
At first glance, it looks like this site has really good coverage in the US for a sweepstakes casino and social betting brand. Overall, Pick’em is safe and legal to use for US players aged 18+ (or the minimum age in your state) in 43 states.
Only players from these seven states are excluded from the site completely:
❌ Washington
❌ Idaho
❌ Nevada
❌ Montana
❌ South Dakota
❌ Michigan
❌ Louisiana
However, that doesn’t tell the whole story, as it’s only the social casino that’s available in the 43 listed legal states. The DFS social betting option is only available in 23 states (plus DC), which I’ve listed below:
✅ Alaska
✅ Arkansas
✅ Georgia
✅ Illinois
✅ Kentucky
✅ Minnesota
✅ Nebraska
✅ New Mexico
✅ North Carolina
✅ North Dakota
✅ Oklahoma
✅ Oregon
✅ Rhode Island
✅ South Carolina
✅ South Dakota
✅ Texas
✅ Utah
✅ Wisconsin
✅ District of Columbia
✅ Florida
✅ Kansas
✅ West Virginia
✅ Wyoming
No purchase is necessary to play at Pick’em, but the option to purchase additional GCs is available to those who want it. As I explained earlier, you can find promotional GC purchase bundles that come with free bonus SCs. Moreover, the first-purchase packages come with extra GCs and bonus SCs and price discounts.
GC package prices start at $4.99, and you can buy them using your credit/debit card, e-wallet, or online banking. All transactions are processed instantly, and Pickem doesn’t charge any additional fees. That said, I always recommend that you check with your bank before you buy anything, as charges from their end will still apply if there are any.
I’ve listed all available purchase methods for you below:
| Payment Method | Fees | Processing Time |
| Visa | $0 | Instant |
| Mastercard | $0 | Instant |
| Apple Pay | $0 | Instant |
| Google Pay | $0 | Instant |
| Online bank transfer | $0 | Instant |
If you meet the 1x playthrough requirement or win them directly from casino-style gameplay or sports picks, you can redeem your SCs for real prizes. The minimum redemption requirement is 100 SC, and once your request is approved, the prize will be sent to your credit/debit card or bank account at the ratio of 1 SC = 1 USD.
Before your first prize redemption, you’ll need to complete full KYC to verify your ID. This usually involves proving your SSN and uploading a photo ID, but you may also be asked for proof of address or other documentation.
Here’s a full list of the SC redemption conditions and processing times on this site:
The site is pretty plain but generally user-friendly, and there are a few animated elements. For example, there’s a rotating green banner at the top of the screen showing the current welcome offers and other promos.
When it comes to navigating the site, pretty much everything you need is located in the dropdown menu, which you can reveal by clicking the two-line icon at the top of the screen.
From here, you can access the social casino, the sweepstakes sportsbook picks, the promos, and the help center. Additionally, you can also find the “Career” mode from here, where you can pit your pick’em lineup against 10 other teams.
One thing I should mention is that you cannot register and play on the website. You need to download and install the Web App if you want to play Pick’em on a desktop, which might not be ideal for some.
While desktop users need to download the Web App, there are mobile apps available for iOS and Android users in the App Store and Google Play. Both versions of the app have decent user ratings, as you can see in the table below.
The Pick’em app is fairly easy to use, and the layout is very basic, to the point that it almost looks over-simplified. There are big buttons that you can tap to switch from the social casino to the sports picks, and you can filter your search in the casino lobby using the category buttons at the top of your screen.
Your GC and SC balance is at the top of your screen, and you just need to tap the toggle to change the virtual currency that you want to play with. Besides that, there aren’t really any standout features for me to report on here.
| App | Rating |
| Android | 4.8 ⭐ |
| iOS | 4.7 ⭐ |
If you run into any problems when using this site, I’d recommend using the Help Center first, as you can find articles relating to most troubleshooting issues here. By typing in a keyword related to your search, you’ll quickly discover if you can resolve your doubts here.
Should the help center let you down, you can send a message by opening the live chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the screen. At first, a bot will respond with relevant help center articles, which can be a little frustrating if you’ve just read them.
You can then enter your email and wait for a “Teammate” to respond, but this can take up to 12 hours. You can send them an email instead, but it all lands in the same inbox, and the same response times apply.
Overall, Pick’em is alright, but I wouldn’t say it’s anything special. There’s a decent selection of casino-style games, the DFS pick’em-style social sports betting is fun for a while, and the app is fairly user-friendly.
On the other hand, it lacks a proper wow factor, and the 50,000 GC + 1 SC welcome offer is pretty underwhelming. If you want to see for yourself, you can sign up via the banners or links on this page.
Yes, Pick’em is a legit online social casino and sportsbook that’s legal in 43 states. However, I should note that the sportsbook social pick’em contests are only available in 23 of these 43 states.
You cannot win real money directly from casino-style gameplay or social sports picks on this app. If you win, you’ll always receive virtual currency in the form of either Gold Coins (GC) or Sweeps Coins (SC). While GCs cannot be traded or redeemed, you can redeem SCs for real prizes, subject to the 1x playthrough and 100 SC minimum balance threshold.
Pick’em is a site that offers two things. Firstly, you can play casino-style games using virtual currencies, Gold Coins, and Sweeps Coins. Secondly, you can make DFS-style sports picks for players using the same virtual currencies. However, you cannot play using real money.
