Does PICKEM have a welcome bonus for card ripping fans?

It does. I received one free pack when I joined. You can usually sell back any pack you pull for 90% of the FMV (Fair Market Value) if you’d rather not keep it. The PICKEM sign up offer includes your first sale at 100% of the FMV. I’ve written a PICKEM bonus article covering this in more detail.

Can you become a VIP member too?

PICKEM started as a sweepstakes casino and it still offers that service. This does involve a VIP program, so I wondered whether it had expanded to cater for card rippers as well.

It looks like it has. Early in the terms of use, I found that you’ll get the same number of VIP points as the cost of your pack. You can’t redeem those VIP points, but they offer undetermined perks for the card ripping part of PICKEM. Many of the VIP perks relate to the sweepstakes casino at present.

Essential PICKEM facts

PICKEM is run by Joyloop Inc. I found I could access the card ripping service from my home state of New York and complete the PICKEM registration process from there. Indeed, PICKEM is fine to use in all but 5 US states. Here are the exceptions:

• Michigan
• Minnesota
• Montana
• Nevada
• Washington

I found clear terms of use, along with a responsible gaming guide with support links if you need them. While card ripping is separate from the sweepstakes gaming format also available at PICKEM, it’s good to see the responsible gaming angle covered there.

App availability

I’ve been able to sign up to similar sites on the official websites. That’s how I joined and wrote my Gemint review, for instance. It looks like you can only use PICKEM if you download their app. It’s available for iOS and Android. The App Store gives it a 4.8 rating, while you can find PICKEM ratings of 4.5 in the Google Play Store.

What’s it like to use PICKEM?

Pretty good. Having downloaded the iOS app, I chose a pack and could see every detail of the revealed card on my iPhone screen. I could see the Buyback option if I wanted to use it. It appears with details of the card you’ve pulled. I liked being able to find some different pack options too – Elite, Advanced, and Pro featuring as three of the options.

PICKEM fares well compared to the Slabz review highlights. It’s a nice app-based service that feels intuitive to use. I’d like to see everything on their website, too, but you cannot currently use PICKEM on desktop.

What should you expect from card ripping at PICKEM?

First up, I noticed they have cards on some of the leading sports:

• American football
• Baseball
• Basketball

They’ve also got Pokémon card packs available. I found those while writing the Mnstr review here too. Each pack contains a single card. If you love what you see, you can ask for it to be mailed to your home. If not, you can sell it back to the site for 90% of the fair market value. You can also decide to stash it in your inventory. That said, PICKEM states you’ve got three hours from pulling a card to decide whether you want to have it sent to you.

Recent big card rip examples

I found a few picks recent card rippers would surely have been happy with at PICKEM. Their website displayed these when I visited:

• 2026 Pokémon ASC Heroes Mega Gengar – valued at $2,250 from a Pokémon Pro Pack for $100
• 2022 Bowman Autograph Elly de la Cruz – valued at $1,980 from a Baseball Pro Pack for $100
• 2009 Classic Confrontations K. Bryant – valued at $1,000 from a Basketball Advanced Pack for $50

Viewing each card on your device

Whatever card you pull, you’ll want to look at it more closely. I found the imagery provided by PICKEM spot on here. You’ll see the card displayed along with key information above it. This appears in a small panel including a barcode.

That way, you can see exactly what you’ve revealed in your chosen card pack. For instance, one Pokémon card displayed on the site was confirmed as a 2026 Pokémon ASC EN. The details confirmed it was a Special Illustration Rare. It also gave the value. Even if you haven’t tried card ripping, this level of detail will help you figure out what you’ve got and whether to sell it or ship it.

Here’s what I learned about payments at PICKEM

If you want to buy a pack to rip, you’ll do so by browsing the collection and choosing one you want to get. Your account has a Cash balance, so if you’ve got enough in there, the purchase is completed by taking funds from that balance. Prices begin from $1, depending on pack tier and the potential contents inside.

Adding funds and using Buyback

If you don’t have enough cash in your PICKEM balance, you’ll need to add funds to it first. The balance bit takes some getting used to. You don’t buy packs directly via your chosen payment method. You’ll need to choose an option to fund your account with and then pay for a pack from there.

Similarly, if you use the Buyback feature, the funds from that will hit your PICKEM account. You won’t get a direct credit to your card or other payment method.

Which payment methods can you use?

The PICKEM website gives you a few options, including Mastercard, Visa, and Skrill. Since PICKEM has an app-based service, I was pleased to see I could use Apple Pay for my iPhone. And yes, Android users will have access to Google Pay, too.

When I arrived on the PICKEM website, I noticed they had a basic Rips section in the menu. This explains the basics of ripping packs with them. You’ll also find the official links to the iOS and Android apps at the top of their website. While the basic rips page does make a good start on the topic, you’ll likely have more questions, just as I did.

Help center availability

Fortunately, I didn’t need to look too far to find the help center. It’s linked from the top of the website, and available via the apps too, of course. Once inside the help center, I found a blue message icon at the foot of the page. You can open that and send a message if you need to.

I tried it before joining. They asked for my email address and stated they usually replied within 12 hours. Alternatively, you can send them a direct email using the support email address you’ll find at the foot of the help center. These are all good options to have, and they’re similar to what I found in my Openthatpack review, so PICKEM is not lagging behind the competition in the support department.

It’s not obvious, but now you know where to find them. They’ve got seven articles in the Packs section. That’s how I was able to learn more about the PICKEM card packs feature. Topics cover the following areas plus some more:

It’s a good introduction to card ripping at PICKEM. It would be good if they had a more obvious card rips section in the help center though – and a bigger one at that.

Would I use PICKEM again for card ripping?

Yes – in fact, I already have. I was pleased to get my one free pack as a new member, especially since some competing sites and services don’t have a welcome bonus. I’ve yet to use my 100% Buyback on my first sale back to PICKEM, but I know it’s there when I want to use it.
