Overview of Packly’s digital mystery packs

At Packly, you rip Pokémon mystery packs using gems. These gems are available for purchase in the store, and you can also receive them from bonuses. The site uses a transparent conversion rate of $1 for 100 gems.

Each digital mystery pack you rip on Packly gets you 10 Pokémon cards. It’s one of the features I commend most because some sites offer packs with single cards. After ripping on Packly, the cards go to the Binder (your inventory). Then, you can decide whether to sell or request shipping for your cards.

I was satisfied with the range of Pokémon trading cards Packly offers. However, I would have preferred it if the brand covered other TCGs, especially One Piece and Magic: The Gathering. Even sports mystery packs, like those I saw in my Packz.io review, would be a welcome addition.

Pack types

One unique aspect of Packly is that the site groups packs by Pokémon card sets. Therefore, you can specifically select a pack type based on the set you’re trying to complete. I counted 17 sets at the time I checked, and these were the top five:

Card tiers and pull rates

Packly’s digital mystery packs contain cards of five tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Mythic. As you’d expect, Common and Uncommon cards are easy to pull. By contrast, Rare, Epic, and Mythic tiers are chase cards.

From what I saw, Rare, Epic, and Mythic tiers usually have sub-tiers that vary depending on the pack. Whenever I open a digital mystery pack on Packly, I see the pull odds for each card tier. Here’s an example for the Dark Arc pack type:

Remember that each pack on Packly offers 10 trading cards. So, from the above table, you’re guaranteed to get Common and Uncommon cards among the 10. The probability for Rare is also high in my example, but it was low for certain sub-tiers.

Selling back your cards

After ripping a digital mystery pack, you can sell your Pokémon cards back to Packly at specific sell-back rates. In my experience, the rate starts at 85% and increases according to your loyalty level.

You typically have to sell back Common and Uncommon cards at Packly. The brand doesn’t offer shipping for those tiers. To illustrate, I once pulled a Girafarig card worth 20 gems and sold it back for 17 gems. Packly has an Auto Sell feature that lets you automatically sell back Commons and Uncommons after ripping.

Shipping

If you choose shipping, you’ll need to enter your address in the tracking (or shipping) section. Then, Packly will process and ship the collectibles within 14 business days, and you handle any applicable fees.

I consider a 14-business-day delivery timeframe to be relatively fast. For comparison, it often took up to 30 days to receive items during my BigBux review. That said, Packly sometimes requires an extra week (up to 21 days) if there’s a high volume of requests.

Marketplace

Packly has an on-site marketplace where you can sell or buy Pokémon cards. Plus, you can trade card for card, especially Commons and Uncommons for a rarer collectible.

I sometimes list my pulled cards in the marketplace if I believe I can get a better price than the brand’s sell-back offer. Note that buying and selling in the marketplace involves gems, not USD directly.

Stripe-powered payments at Packly

At Packly, Stripe powers every payment, and you use the service to purchase gems in the store. From what I saw, Stripe supports credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Cash App Pay, Amazon Pay, bank transfers, and crypto.

The packages range from $7.50 for 750 gems to $255 for 25,500 gems. You can also enter a custom purchase amount, and some packages I saw included bonus gems.

Unfortunately, Packly doesn’t support real money payouts. You can only sell your cards for gems and rip more digital mystery packs. I searched the site but didn’t see an option to exchange gems for cash and make a withdrawal.

The absence of payouts affected my Packly ratings during this review. If you wish to sell your Pokémon trading cards for real money, you have to request shipping, then list them on a third-party marketplace.

Is Packly legit?

I classify Packly as a legit digital mystery pack site because it uses Provably Fair technology. For context, Provably Fair is a cryptographic algorithm system that keeps the outcome of each rip random. You don’t have to just trust it, as you can verify the results yourself.

When you select a digital mystery pack on Packly, you’ll see the Provably Fair server seed hash. You can copy it and follow the instructions to confirm the randomness.

However, I didn’t see a standard ID verification process at Packly. That’s not unusual for a digital mystery pack site, though, especially since it doesn’t support withdrawals. I’ve ripped packs on some alternative sites in the US that also didn’t require verification.

Generous bonuses and rewards from Packly

Packly has some of the best bonus offers I’ve seen on a digital mystery pack site. These are the different promos I claimed on the site:

Free pack on first purchase

After buying my first gem package, Packly rewarded me with a free digital mystery pack. This offer is the Packly sign-up bonus, and it doesn’t require a promo code. All standard packages are eligible, including the least expensive one that costs $7.50.

Daily reward

Each day I signed in to my Packly account, I claimed free gems from the daily reward. It’s an interactive Packly bonus that requires you to select one of three packs. You’ll see the odds of getting each reward, from 5 to 375 gems.

Streak bonus

As the name says, this promo rewards you for keeping a streak. If you sign in and perform any activity on Packly for three straight days, you’ll get a +1% boost to your daily pack odds. Keep logging in for 28 days, and you’ll receive a 10% boost.

Referral program

I invited my friends to register on Packly using my referral link. When they did, I instantly received 2.5% in gems on every purchase they made. If you ask me, the Packly referral program is simple yet rewarding.

Loyalty program

Packly runs a massive loyalty program with 100 levels. Called Rewards, I joined Level 1 automatically after registration and progressed by accumulating XP. Packly gave me XP for almost everything I did on the site, from purchasing gems to ripping packs and selling cards.

Each level in the Rewards program comes with its own benefits. As seen in my review, you can expect free gems, daily bonus packs, and an increased sell-back rate of up to 92.5%. I saw a similar loyalty scheme in my Card Crush review, but it had just seven tiers.

My usability experience on Packly

Packly uses a familiar, dark-themed website interface. Accents are mainly orange, and the monospace fonts are quite easy to read. Finding my way around was easy thanks to the basic top menu featuring Browse Packs, Marketplace, and Rewards, among other options.

I appreciate the demo open option available to new collectors on Packly. After signing up, the site offered me the option to rip a demo pack. The pulled cards weren’t added to my inventory, but it allowed me to learn how the process works.

There’s no Packly app, but I almost always use the site on my smartphone. The top menu on the PC interface is at the bottom on the mobile site, making browsing simpler even with one hand.

Limited customer service performance

If you need help at Packly, you can reach the customer service team via email. I didn’t see a live chat support channel on the site. Instead, Packly features a Global Chat where you can chat with other collectors. Nevertheless, I sometimes drop questions in the chat for others to help out.

Conclusion – Packly is reliable for Pokémon mystery packs

My Packly review confirmed one fact: the site is currently exclusive to Pokémon trading cards. If you want a different TCG or other category like sports, the brand won’t work. However, if you’re after Pokémon cards, Packly makes it easy by categorizing packs by sets.

You can pull 10 cards per pack, and the pull odds per tier are transparent before ripping. Plus, each rip is random thanks to Provably Fair. If you choose to receive your trading cards, the brand’s 14-business-day average delivery time is another upside.
