MNSTR Review 2026: Is Monster As Good As They Say?

Similar to my Shiny review, Monster is another trusted digital mystery box platform. Monster, commonly referred to as MNSTR, is permitted in the US. Based on my observations, at the heart of the platform is opening collectible card packs. However, secondary features also include a marketplace and unique Dutch auctions.

Types of packs

Unlike the packs I covered with my Packdraw review, there are only two main options at MNSTR. For now, you can open Pokémon and One Piece packs. Below are the details of each:

Pokémon packs:

• Starter – $50
• Great – $100
• Monster – $250
• Ultra – $1,250

One Piece packs:

• Adventure – $150
• Outlaw – $500

For each pack, you can either pull a Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic or Legendary card. All cards are graded by legitimate authenticators, including PSA, CGC, and BGS. Before opening a pack, you can see the Fair Market Value (FMV) and the odds of each pull. The FMV is based on real-time market data.

Ship ripped cards to your home

After you have pulled a card, an NFT is created. The NFT is used for your online portfolio. If you do not like your pull, you can sell it back to MNSTR for up to 95% of the FMV.

If you do like your pull, you can ship it to your physical address. Once you start the shipping process, the NFT is burned. When I first shipped my cards, I learned that there was a fixed fee.

At the time of writing, a flat $20 shipping fee and a $5 handling fee are charged per shipped card in the US. You can track the shipment and expected delivery times from your account portal. All shipped graded cards are delivered in pristine condition and in a slab.

Trade on the marketplace

Like other digital mystery box platforms, the marketplace is a secondary feature at MNSTR. This is a peer-to-peer exchange, where users can trade graded cards. Monster acts as an intermediary and does not participate in the active negotiations. The site will facilitate the trade and process the transfer once the final negotiations are concluded.

A nice touch with the marketplace is sourcing specific cards. You can contact MNSTR to request specific graded cards for trading. If another user has the card and wants to sell it, you will be notified when negotiations can commence.

Unique Dutch auctions for blind drops and sealed packs

Finally, there are the Dutch auctions. This is unique, and not many sites offer this option based on my experience. There are two types of Dutch auctions: blind drops and sealed packs.

With blind drops, you can pay for a spot at a falling price. Every spot has a hidden graded card. Once the drop ends, the reveal window will open, and all reveals will occur. After your card is revealed, you can keep it in the vault, ship it to your home or sell it back to MNSTR for up to 95% of the FMV.

Sealed packs are Dutch auctions where the price falls until someone locks it in. Once the round opens, the price drops by $5 every two seconds. Once you think the price is right, you can lock the price and purchase the pack. If someone beats you and locks a price, then the auction is over.

No welcome bonus but lots of rewards for existing players

When I first completed the Monster sign up process, I was expecting a welcome reward. However, that is not what I received. From my experience, there are no sign up offers for new users. I hope that this changes, as several other mystery box platforms do have welcome rewards.

I quickly had a smile on my dial as I browsed the Rewards Hub. This page lists all active promos for every user. Common existing user promos include referral perks, points and leaderboard prizes, social media giveaways and free packs from the Dupe Shield. Is Monster a legitimate platform?

If you read my Beezie review, you would know I always mention using trusted mystery box sites. The good news is that MNSTR ticks all the right boxes for player safety. Monster is a legitimate platform, permitted across the US. Signing up is a breeze, and you can use the banners to get started.

As touched on earlier, all pulled cards are graded and authenticated. The marketplace is monitored, and the Dutch auctions are transparent and fair. While using the site, I also came across several security measures. These include password-protected accounts, random KYC checks and an encrypted banking platform. To sum up, your safety is prioritized at MNSTR.

An encrypted banking platform for all users

Like the banking platform I detailed in my Lastpack review, Monster also has an encrypted banking platform. Since MNSTR runs on the MegaETH blockchain network, it is a crypto-friendly mystery box site.

You can fund your account using both FIAT and crypto. In my experience, you can pay to open packs using FIAT methods like Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

An interesting observation I found is that for crypto, the platform only supports USDm. This is the native stablecoin for the MegaETH blockchain. Don’t stress if you do not have USDm. MNSTR will bridge your crypto transfers from compatible wallets. Just remember, there may be gas fees.

When I withdrew from Monster, I could only use my crypto wallet. All withdrawals are processed within minutes. MNSTR does not charge any withdrawal fees, but there may be network gas fees.

My Monster ratings of the customer support

My Monster ratings took a hit with the customer service. I expected instant support, particularly with a live chat. However, there is no instant support on the platform. A lack of live chat means that you have to wait several hours for a response. You can send the team an email. I tried that option, but it took over 24 hours for a response. However, the bright side is that the agents are friendly and knowledgeable.

Another option for contacting the team is social media. You can follow the official X and Discord channels. Besides feedback and support, there are also random giveaways for followers on these platforms.

Overall, I rated MNSTR a 6/10 for customer service. Should a live chat feature be introduced, I will revert with my findings, so stay tuned.

The desktop website is easy to use

You know how Walmart has specific items on each aisle? The same applies to the Monster desktop website. Thankfully, there are no mad crowds to deal with, unlike at Walmart.

Like Walmart, everything is categorized on MNSTR. The banners make it easy to find what you are looking for. Once you log into your account, your Rewards Hub is at the right. The marketplace, packs and points banners are at the top. If you scroll to the bottom, you will find the terms and conditions page.

I spent time on each section, and all pages loaded quickly. So, regardless of whether you are a newbie or a regular, you should not have any issues browsing the desktop website.

No signs as yet for standalone mobile apps

Monster is also mobile-friendly! For now, there are no dedicated mobile apps. However, you can rip cards on the go with the mobile-optimized website. The mobile website is compatible with most devices, including Android and iOS. To access the site, enter the Monster URL into your browser.

Since the site mirrors the desktop version, the same features are available. So, while out and about, you can pull a card, ship it to your home or sell it back to MNSTR. Just a heads up: make sure you have a stable internet connection. Otherwise, pack openings may lag or buffer.

Verdict – I liked what I found with my Monster review!

That concludes my Monster review. As you can tell, I liked what I found. MNSTR is a nice addition to the mystery box scene.

FYI, I did find some areas for improvement. It would be nice to see more packs, particularly for sports. However, I spoke to an agent who did mention that other collectible cards are on the way.

Don’t forget that all the Pokémon and One Piece cards are all graded and authenticated. A nice touch is the addition of the secondary features. With one account, you can also make trades on the marketplace, plus enter the Dutch auctions.
