Every so often, a new product comes along and changes the game. So begins my review of FanDuel Predicts, where I’ll be shining a light on why this is a major advancement for prediction market trading in 2026 and beyond.
The FanDuel Prediction Market has been up and running for a couple of months now, and I’ve been chomping at the bit to give it a try. So, join me as I take a comprehensive look at this new event trading tool, and learn how to collect $10 in free FanDuel trading credit as a new customer.
I don’t want to go any further with my FanDuel Predicts review until I’ve ascertained exactly where you can use this new prediction markets app. After all, this is an entirely different proposition from FanDuel’s sportsbook and casino portals, so it’s worth returning to the company’s overarching T&Cs to figure out where you can legally enjoy its new prediction tool.
Yep, you read that right. After a little digging around on the FanDuel Predicts holding page, I discovered that the brand’s prediction market app is available in all parts of the USA. That’s a far cry from the limited state-by-state coverage of its casino and sportsbook portals, and great news for anyone who lives in a state with limited (or no) access to real-money gambling platforms.
There is, however, a slight caveat to all this (isn’t there always?). You see, while FanDuel Predicts is available in all 50 states, the markets available to trade at do vary by region. Here’s a breakdown:
| Sports, Finance, Economics, and Commodities | Finance, Economics, and Commodities |
| WA, OR, NV, MT, WY, CO, AZ, KS, IA, MO, AR, LA, MI, WI, MS, IN, KY, TN, OH, WV, VA, NC, PA, WV, MD, NJ, NY, CT, VT, NH, ME | AK, HI, CA, ID, UT, NM, ND, SD, NE, NM, OK, TX, MN, AL, GA, SC, FL |
You’ll notice that FanDuel’s sports prediction markets are the fly in the ointment here. And that’s understandable given that some regional lawmakers feel that these new sports predictor apps too closely resemble standard sports betting sites; that’s ultimately why you won’t be able to use FanDuel Predicts to make sports prediction outcomes in certain states.
An 18+ age limit applies to use the new FanDuel Predicts app. Depending on local laws in your state, however, this may rise to 19+ or 21+ respectively. Check local laws if you’re uncertain.
Right now, you may be rubbing your hands together at the prospect of finally being able to access a FanDuel product in your state, and one where you could actually return a profit if your predictions prove correct. But given that FanDuel Predicts is an entirely different proposition than its sportsbook and casino, let me show you how things work and the kind of software and markets we’re talking about here.
Since FanDuel Predicts prides itself on being a pick-up-and-play platform, I don’t want to bamboozle you with trading speak. However, I think it’s important to get to grips with what’s going on behind the scenes here.
FanDuel Predicts is essentially a derivatives contracts trading platform. It lets users buy and sell “yes or no” trading contracts based on real-life events, be it an upcoming NBA game or big moves in the economy.
You’ll be trading in a peer-to-peer format, making predictions on events that you think will or won’t happen. Each time you make a prediction, you’ll be buying a “yes” or “no” derivatives contract, and have the option to sell these again at any time, even before the event has taken place.
That’s how FanDuel Predicts works in a nutshell. There’s lots more info on the brand’s official holding page, so I would definitely recommend checking this out before you download the official mobile app and start trading. If you want to see how it compares to another prediction market, our OG.com review covers it in detail.
There’s a whole bunch of different “topics” available at FanDuel Predicts, each containing individual markets for you to trade on. Personally, I was overawed by the scope of the app’s market variety; it does feel like it’s possible to make predictions on almost anything here, which is truly impressive.
For a lot of FanDuel Predicts users, you’ll be able to access markets ranging from finance and sports to economics and science. For instance, just earlier, I stumbled across a finance market asking users to predict which US tech company would be worth the most at the end of February, NVIDIA or Apple? Other markets concern game-day sports predictions, with simple “Yes” or “No” mechanics leaving no room for doubt as to how to lock in your prediction.
I’m hoping that by now your interest in FanDuel Predicts is truly piqued. But there’s another important aspect of the FanDuel Predictions Markets app that I’m yet to cover, and that concerns deposits and payouts.
Before you start trading at FanDuel Predicts, you’ll need to add funds to your account. This is very straightforward and mirrors the standard process for making deposits on other FanDuel products, so it may feel quite familiar to some of you.
Open the FanDuel Predicts app
Tap the account icon
Select “Deposit”
Select your desired deposit method. Right now, you can add funds using a debit card (Visa/Mastercard) or via standard bank transfer
Add the amount you wish to deposit and follow the steps to complete your transaction
Adding funds at FanDuel Predicts is super simple. I’m just hoping the brand adds a couple more deposit options in the future.
“Cashing out” at FanDuel Predicts is a little different from, say, withdrawing funds at an online sportsbook. Remember that this is a trading platform, so you’ll be hoping to sell your position at a net gain before withdrawing the funds.
The first thing to note about FanDuel Predicts payouts is that a standard 2% fee applies to all withdrawals. That covers FanDuel’s cut of the peer-to-peer trades you’ve made on the platform, and it’s always included on your “Current Orders” page, which I do think is a transparent way to do things.
Here’s how payouts work on the app:
Open FanDuel Predicts app
Tap the account icon
Here, you can review current orders and completed trades
If an event has ended and you’ve won, available funds will be shown as “pending payouts”
You can use the value of “pending payouts” to make additional trades or wait for the funds to be released, which takes 1-2 business days
When the funds are available, you can withdraw them using your debit card or bank transfer, with a 2% fee levied at checkou
FanDuel is well-rated for the quality of its mobile apps, so I wasn’t surprised by the quality and performance of its new Predicts platform. Even for beginners, I can’t foresee any issues when it comes to onboarding and starting out on the platform, with a slick, streamlined interface making it easy to open an account and get ready to trade.
What’s nice about FanDuel Predicts is that everything is super transparent and easily accessible. Users are kept in the know on fees, trading terms, and significant market value fluctuations, so from start to finish, it never feels like you could get stuck wondering what to do next. And even if you did, there’s a responsive live chat channel available 24/7, but more on that later.
If you need an added incentive to use FanDuel Predicts beyond the fact that this represents an awesome leap forward in online prediction trading, then, good news, because I came across a couple of promos and rewards that should help sweeten the deal.
Thus far, promotions have been a rare find at FanDuel Predicts, so I was happy to find one to share with you as part of my review. Right now, new members can pick up a “Deposit $10, Get $10” welcome bonus when they sign up to use the FanDuel Predicts app, which seems like a pretty excellent deal. You won’t need a FanDuel Predicts promo code to cinch this bonus, either.
Here’s how to get it:
Download the FanDuel Predicts app for iOS or Android
Register for a new account and complete the verification steps
Deposit a minimum of $10 into your new FanDuel Predicts account
You’ll automatically receive $10 in free FanDuel Predicts trading credit
Right now, that does seem to be it for promotions at FanDuel Predicts, but I will, of course, update this guide with new promos as and when they emerge.
In a word? Excellent.
As alluded to earlier, FanDuel has nailed support for its Predicts platform, integrating a reliable live chat function directly into its native mobile app. I received timely responses and concise information through this support channel, with real operators available around the clock. You can’t ask for much more than that.
Elsewhere, it’s possible to reach out to FanDuel via email, while there’s also a super comprehensive FAQs help center, which is the ideal place for beginners to learn more about how the platform works and the types of trading markets available.
