Best Gas Price Prediction Markets Sites & Apps 2026: Where to Trade Gas Price Events

Last Updated on 09/18/2026
Fact checked by: Mark Lewis

In the world of prediction trading, gas prices don’t always get as good coverage as other commodities do. But there are some event contract trading hubs that offer opportunities to trade contracts tied to potential gas price fluctuations.

The best gas price prediction market sites, for those of you happy to take on the risks event contract trading involves, are currently Polymarket and Kalshi. While Crypto.com, another popular Commodities and Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regulated platform, is a robust alternative for traders interested in crude oil and other energy-related contracts. Here are our thoughts on why.

Top Economic Prediction Sites

Gas price prediction trading – the basics

Before we hit you with a full-fledged comparison of what kinds of gas and other commodities prediction markets Polymarket, Kalshi and Crypto.com currently have to offer, let’s take a quick look at how trading event contracts pertaining to gas prices generally works with these kinds of sites.

Gas-related contracts are typically presented as a question about a potential future market event, such as the price of Natural Gas – often dubbed “NG” in the prediction trading world – going up or down by the end of the month, for example. And for simplicity’s sake, individual contracts will always trade at between $0.01 and $0.99 each, depending on the market’s perception of the probability of an event occurring. Although you can buy and sell as many contracts as you like right up until closing.

Here’s a straightforward example illustrating how things work. Let’s imagine you see Polymarket posing the question “NG up or down on August 31?”, with contracts for “Up” on sale for $0.30 and “Down” predictions up for grabs for $0.70 – indicating that most traders (70% in this case) expect NG’s price to fall by the month’s end.

Purchase a few “Down” contracts for $0.70 each, then, and you’d stand to make $0.30 per contract if the prediction turns out to be right – as correct contracts always close at $1 apiece. While if gas prices in fact rise by the end of the month, you’d of course lose everything you’d spent on your “Down” contracts at the outset, unless you were able to sell these to other users before closing.

Of course, the best prediction market sites and apps out there offer opportunities to buy and sell event contracts linked to all sorts of other real-world events, too – from politics, economics and crypto, to pop culture and even the weather. But today, we’re talking about gas price event contracts only, which carry the following pros and cons when traded with sites like Kalshi and Polymarket…

Our comparison of the best prediction market sites for gas prices right now

Gas price prediction trading won’t suit everybody, then, for the simple fact that trading event contracts tied to any commodities, in any market, is risky. Having said that, for those of you interested in giving prediction trading a go, we rate Kalshi and Polymarket as the best prediction market sites for gas prices right now. While we’ve also included Crypto.com in our ranking, as they currently cover other popular commodities, such as crude oil for example, on their site, too.

Here’s a look at how the three brands’ general service offerings compare – which we’ll follow up with a more in-depth mini review of each of these platforms individually in the next section of today’s guide.

Today’s best gas price prediction market sites and apps – in detail

Polymarket, Kalshi and Crypto.com have a lot to offer to traders, then. All are CFTC-regulated, for starters, meaning that they’re accessible from most parts of the US, unless your preferred site’s T&Cs state otherwise. What’s more, each platform covers a broad selection of popular prediction trading markets, too – commodities included.

Here’s a closer look at the standout features of each site for gas and commodity prediction traders specifically:

Polymarket
polymarket pro contra
Polymarket: Pros and Cons
  • Plenty of prediction market topics
  • Trending and breaking areas of interest
  • Lots of predictions in all major subject areas
  • User-friendly site design
  • Gradual US rollout

Polymarket is a CFTC-regulated trading platform with roots dating back to 2020. And as it stands, we think this long-running prediction trading hub is probably the best gas price prediction market site for first-time traders, on account of its user-friendly interface, and robust coverage of simpler, “up or down” style contracts tied to natural gas prices.

At the time of writing, we saw a well-balanced mix of binary and multiple-choice gas contracts up for grabs on the site, such as “Natural Gas (NG) up or down on August 3?” and “What price will NG hit in August 2026?” – the latter of which was offering clear-cut probabilities on 13 different potential outcomes.

We were impressed to see Polymarket offering several easy to read how-to guides and FAQs about how event contract trading works on its Help Center pages. While we also think newer traders will appreciate the site’s color-coded up and down price indicators, too.

Having said that, Polymarket still offers plenty of analytics tools and real-time trackers that are likely to appeal to more experienced traders as well. While we also found more niche gas-related contracts tied to the likes of Federal Gas Tax discussions and the like buried in the platform’s “Politics” contract pages.

Kalshi – best for state-specific gas price predictions

Kalshi
kalshi event trading
Kalshi: Pros and Cons
  • Find markets via search facility
  • Extensive range of prediction markets
  • Clear fees system
  • Large help center
  • Limited promos for existing customers

Much like Polymarket, Kalshi also offers very capable coverage of general, natural gas price predictions, with day-trade contracts like “Natural gas price today at 5pm?” frequently featured on the site’s dedicated “Oil and Energy” page, which can be accessed via Kalshi’s “Economics” tab.

What stood out most to us about Kalshi, though, was the much broader selection of state-specific gas price contracts that were up for grabs at the time of writing – which included the likes of “How low will gas prices get in Texas this year?” and “How high will gas prices get in Florida this year?”, both of which had several multiple choice options.

We also saw “US gasoline CPI for August?” contracts trading on Kalshi’s “Inflation” page, and contracts pertaining to potential gas price tax suspensions in their “Congress” sub-category under politics, too.

Crypto.com – best for contracts tied to other commodities

Crypto.com
crypto-com pro contra
Crypto.com: Pros and Cons
  • Sports, elections, culture, and economics markets
  • Low commission for trading
  • Supports USD and cryptocurrency payments
  • No crypto prediction markets

Crypto.com sadly wasn’t advertising any gas price-specific event contracts at the time of putting together today’s guide. But their prediction trading hub offers daily trading opportunities on crude oil prices, as well as gold, silver and other commodities. While the fact the platform hasn’t been around for as long as Polymarket or Kalshi leads us to believe Crypto.com will likely beef up their service offering to feature other commodities in future. So, watch this space.

In the meantime, if you’re curious about trading event contracts tied to other commodities, Crypto.com offers prediction trading opportunities starting from just $1, with a transparent fees structure, clear-cut trading rules and a user-friendly interface – with downloadable iOS and Android apps also available, currently holding competitive 4.7 and 4.5 star ratings on the App Store and Google Play. While as you might expect, the platform also covers the likes of crypto price predictions, as well as other popular event contract trading markets such as sports, pretty extensively, too.

Just note that at the time of writing, Crypto.com is off limits entirely in Arizona and New York. While in Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, New York, and Ohio, you’re not allowed to trade on sports with their website, or their apps.

Sponsored by Crypto.com – Not investment advice. Trading prediction markets and crypto involves risk, including potential loss of your stake. Consider your risk tolerance before participating. Crypto.com connects U.S. users to CDNA (regulated by CFTC) for derivatives trading. CDNA membership required. Trading may not be suitable for all—you could lose your entire investment plus fees. Past performance doesn’t guarantee future results. This is not a solicitation or recommendation to trade.

Despite the obvious risks involved in buying and selling event contracts linked to gas price predictions, sites that offer contracts on these markets specifically continue to grow in popularity. And we think that largely boils down to the following points:

Gas price market featureExplanation
High price volatilityGas prices often fluctuate more frequently, or at least more noticeably, than those of other commodities.
Clear-cut event contractsThe simple “up/down” nature of the market is a good match for straightforward, binary event contracts.
Regular news coverageWeather reports, supply chain news, and government announcements can all affect the market, influencing traders’ expectations.

What to look for when comparing the best gas price prediction market sites

There’s an increasing number of prediction trading sites out there these days offering event contracts tied to popular commodities such as gas. But we’ve found time and again that the best egg prices prediction market sites, and those specializing in other commodities contracts, tend to offer the following key features – all of which we’d strongly advise traders to look out for when comparing the market.

Brand reputation and CFTC affiliation

If you’re in the US, it’s important to look out for prediction trading sites that are regulated by the Commodities and Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) at a federal level. Although equally, you should be aware that state by state availability of prediction trading sites can still vary from state to state despite CFTC-regulation – as is currently the case with Crypto.com, for example, which is off-limits completely in Arizona and New York.

Whenever we encounter a new prediction trading site, we always dig into its reviews on aggregator sites like TrustPilot, and check out comments on Apple’s App Store and Google Play if the platform is available in app form, too – and we’d advise you guys to do the same. For obvious reasons, it’s important to only ever trade with CFTC-regulated sites and apps that are accessible from your state. While doing your own research into a brand’s background and reputation will help you better understand what to expect before you sign up.

Transparency around fees and trading rules

Just as CFTC-regulation is make or break, the best prediction trading sites for silver, gold and other commodities should be totally transparent when it comes to their trading T&Cs, too.

Our shortlists will only ever feature sites that offer easy access to their trading rules pages, usually from the footer on their homepage, and equally clear-cut info about any fees you may incur during the trading process, too.

If you’re relatively new to prediction trading, we’d also advise looking out for platforms that have new trader FAQs and how-to guides available, like those we found in our review of Kalshi, for example.

While of course, if you’re thinking of registering and trying out trading with any of the brands we’ve reviewed today, we’d strongly recommend giving all such site content a thorough read-through before making your first trade.

Coverage of your favorite gas and commodities markets

We mentioned in our intro that not all the best prediction platforms out there currently cover gas prices, and it’s true, unfortunately. But most major trading brands like Polymarket and Kalshi do offer a dedicated “Commodities” page. While some of the best gold prediction market sites, such as Crypto.com, may even have commodity-specific pages for the likes of gold or silver listed in their “Financials” section, or elsewhere, too. So, be sure to click around until you locate exactly what you’re looking for. And make sure you’re 100% happy with what’s available before you sign up anywhere.

As it stands, Polymarket, Kalshi and Crypto.com each offer all site visitors full browsing access to all their event contracts, pre-registration. And you’ll also find search engines and sensible site filters on these sites to help you locate what you want to trade on most.

Signing up with the best prediction market sites for gas prices – a quick guide

Polymarket, Kalshi and Crypto.com all come with their own unique pros and cons. But if after weighing up all we’ve discussed today, you’re keen to give one of these sites a go, you can currently register a new trader account by following these easy steps:

Remember, it’s important to spend some time reading through your preferred prediction trading platform’s T&Cs before you get started – and to familiarize yourself with the potential risks involved in event contract trading, too – as buying and selling gas price-related event contracts isn’t for everybody.

Final thoughts – pick gas and commodities prediction trading sites carefully

Not all prediction trading sites offer event contracts tied to gas prices, or other gas market events. And among those that do, it’s vital to look out for CFTC-regulation, transparent trading T&Cs and full availability in your state.

As explored in today’s guide, Polymarket and Kalshi are two prominent, CFTC-registered prediction trading hubs that cover a variety of gas-related contracts on the regular. While Crypto.com is a capable alternative for traders who are interested in other commodities, and located in that platform’s permitted US states.

If you’d like to try out any of these prediction trading sites today, we think that Polymarket is probably the best all-rounder for newer and more experienced traders who want access to general Natural Gas (NG) prediction contracts that offer probabilities on both longer and shorter-term potential price shifts. While if you’re looking for state-by-state gas price predictions, or a greater variety of gas-related contracts, then Kalshi might be a more robust choice.

Would-be traders among you can register with Polymarket, Kalshi or Crypto.com using our official links on this page. Just remember that event contract trading carries risk, and you’ll need to pay close attention to trading T&Cs and state-specific eligibility rules before you sign up and get started.

Although Crypto.com, which offers a smaller selection of commodities contracts than the other two brands, was advertising crude oil-related contracts only.

🤔 What factors can cause price shifts in gas prices?

In short, several – including the weather, seasonal demand, production and supply changes and global economic events. CFTC-regulation and state-level availability are the most important things to look out for, of course. As it stands, we’d say that Kalshi probably comes out on top here, offering live price charts and easy options for monitoring multiple contracts at once.
