Week 2 of the NFL season features a fascinating AFC matchup as the Indianapolis Colts travel to Denver to face the Broncos. The Colts turned heads this offseason by handing the reins to Daniel Jones, hoping his mobility and experience can stabilize their offense alongside workhorse Jonathan Taylor. Michael Pittman Jr. remains his top target, while the Colts’ defense looks to keep the team in games.
For Denver, rookie quarterback Bo Nix gets his first home start at Mile High, looking to prove he can be the long-term solution. Surrounded by a strong running game and veteran receiver Courtland Sutton, the Broncos are trying to lean on balance and efficiency. With Denver a slim favorite at home and the total projected in the low 40s, there’s real prop betting value on both sides.
Daniel Jones Over 31.5 Rushing Yards
Jonathan Taylor Over 78.5 Rushing Yards
Courtland Sutton Anytime Touchdown
Michael Pittman Jr. Over 5.5 Receptions
Jones may be inconsistent as a passer, but his legs are always a weapon. Last season, he averaged 38 rushing yards per game, with multiple outings over 50. The Broncos’ defense has historically struggled against mobile quarterbacks, and Jones is likely to scramble if Denver’s pass rush closes quickly. Designed runs also remain part of his game, making the Over on 31.5 rushing yards a sharp angle.
Taylor is still the centerpiece of the Colts’ offense, and he’ll get 18–22 carries if Indianapolis can control tempo. Denver’s defense ranked in the bottom 10 last season against the run, giving up chunk plays between the tackles. Taylor has cleared 80 rushing yards in four of his last six road games, and his ability to wear down defenses makes this number very reasonable.
With Jerry Jeudy no longer in Denver, Sutton is clearly the Broncos’ top wideout. He’s a proven red-zone threat, leading the team in touchdowns last season with 10. Bo Nix leaned on Sutton heavily in the opener, especially near the end zone. At home, against an Indy secondary that allowed multiple WR scores in Week 1, Sutton Anytime TD is one of the best plays on the board.
Pittman has been Daniel Jones’ security blanket in the short-to-intermediate passing game, racking up targets in bunches. He cleared this number in Week 1 and has posted 6+ catches in 10 of his last 15 games. The Broncos’ secondary is still adjusting after roster turnover, and Pittman’s size and route running make him a tough cover. If the Colts fall behind, Jones will pepper him with targets, pushing this over.
A correlated approach works well here: pairing Jones Over 31.5 Rush Yards with Taylor Over 78.5 Rush Yards fits a ground-heavy Colts script. On the other hand, coupling Sutton Anytime TD with Pittman Over 5.5 Receptions balances both teams’ top receiving weapons. Diversifying across scenarios gives bettors multiple paths to success.
Bo Nix Over 1.5 Passing TDs – Rookie QB has weapons and a favorable matchup at home.
Alec Pierce Longest Reception Over 19.5 Yards – A field-stretching option for Indy.
First Half Under 21.5 Points – Mile High early nerves could lead to a slow start.
The Colts vs. Broncos matchup features two teams in transition, each leaning on key stars to guide them. Daniel Jones’ mobility and Jonathan Taylor’s rushing volume headline Indy’s approach, while rookie Bo Nix and veteran Courtland Sutton fuel Denver’s offensive hopes. Michael Pittman’s reliability rounds out a strong prop betting slate, making this AFC battle a rich opportunity for bettors looking for value in Week 2.
