Philadelphia has outshone Brooklyn in both matches this series and holds an overwhelming 2-0 lead. They are also undefeated against them this season – having gone undefeated against them all year.
Brooklyn has put forth some solid individual performances yet has still been defeated in its matchups against Philadelphia. Will Brooklyn be able to reverse course when they return home, or will Philadelphia claim another win in this series? Let’s examine both teams and make our pick for 76ers vs Nets betting predictions.
The Brooklyn Nets don’t have much to show for themselves through two games of their series with Philly. Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson each scored at least 28 points during one of these contests to provide some hope; however, most of their offense has gone quiet.
Due to this deficit, Brooklyn is only averaging 92.5 points through two games of this series, though their shooting efficiency hasn’t been too shabby, with 46% overall and 37% behind-the-arc accuracy, respectively. Unfortunately for them, though, other deficiencies have caused them to fall behind their rivals.
No secret exists regarding Brooklyn’s height disparity against Philadelphia. That has left them vulnerable on the offensive glass, leading to a negative offensive rebound differential through two games of competition.
Philadelphia has managed 37 second-chance points due to their offensive rebounding success, while Brooklyn only managed three second-chance points.
Game 1 couldn’t have gone any better for Philadelphia in their playoff debut. Shooting 47% from the floor, 49% from three and 100% at the free-throw line led them to score 121 points en route to an easy 20-point win.
Philadelphia still managed to win Game 2. Though things weren’t easy in Game 2, Philadelphia emerged victorious.
The Philadelphia 76ers experienced a drastic decrease in shooting efficiency in Game 2, shooting just 45.0% from the floor and 31.4% from three. This allowed Brooklyn to stay close, even taking a 49-44 lead into halftime.
Philadelphia’s defense more than made up for their lack of offensive firepower in Game 2. They achieved a 92.3 Defensive Rating while holding Brooklyn to 35 points on 35.1% shooting from the second half onwards.
The Philadelphia 76ers are an elite team on both ends of the floor. When things don’t click one way, they have proven it can still make up for it in another aspect of play.
Game 2 closed at Philadelphia -9.5; at the time of writing, it has shifted 5 points due to the change of venue.
Brooklyn hasn’t proven it can compete with Philadelphia at any point this season, and their significant disadvantage on the offensive glass puts them in an impossible position in the future.
I don’t believe a switch in location will result in five points for either team in this matchup.
