This was supposed to be Rodgers vs. Mahomes and one of the year’s best games. It has turned out to be a mismatch between Zach Wilson and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.
This game is a mismatch as we have maybe the best-starting Quarterback in the NFL battling maybe the worst stating Quarterback in the NFL.
The Jets kicked off their season with an encouraging 22-16 home win against Buffalo despite losing quarterback Aaron Rodgers to injury, maintaining some optimism by finding a way to win with Wilson as quarterback with help from Josh Allen turning the ball over four times and giving away the game. Unfortunately, however, over their next two games against outstanding defenses such as Dallas 30-10 and New England – things quickly went south.
Kansas City came into their game against Chicago having scored only 37 points through two games – they lost their opener against Detroit 21-20 before beating Jacksonville 17-9 as 3-point underdogs on September 17th. On Sunday, they took out their frustration on the struggling Bears, who have recently experienced tough times on and off the field. After scoring just seven points in the opening quarter, Kansas City surged ahead to score 27 in the second and won by 41-10. In the second half, the only drama to come out was whether TE Travis Kelce would catch a touchdown pass while Taylor Swift, his reported girlfriend sitting next to his mother in one of the suites, was present. Fortunately for Kelce, he did just that in the middle of the third quarter before Mahomes came out due to an out-of-control game and an ankle injury suffered early.
I don’t expect the Jets will score against the Chiefs in this one; similar to their performance against the Jaguars where they scored 17 but allowed only nine. Trevor Lawrence is much superior to Wilson who could get booed out of MetLife Stadium. They will try to establish run plays against the Chiefs, but throwing the ball with Zach Wilson gets you blown out. Take the Chiefs -8.5!
