Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season is just around the corner, so we are taking an in-depth look at Sunday Night Football from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, for your best Cowboys vs. Giants betting pick and odds.
Dallas is a three-point road favorite with 46.5 points total. You can take Dallas at -163 moneyline odds while New York Giants can be taken at +143 odds. Last season, Dallas went 2-0 straight up and 1-1 against them against ATS betting odds.
Last season, the New York Giants advanced to the playoffs after placing third in NFC East with a 9-7-1 record and beating Minnesota Vikings 31-24 on the road in the wild-card round before succumbing to the Philadelphia Eagles 38-7 in the divisional round. Daniel Jones led the Giants in 2022 with an outstanding season that saw him throw for 3,205 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions while also running 120 times for 708 yards and seven scores – encouraging signs for 2023!
Saquon Barkley finally managed to stay healthy in 2022, amassing 295 totes for 1,312 yards and 10 touchdowns while also recording 57 receptions for 338 yards. Richie James notched 569 receiving yards with four scores while Darius Slayton grabbed 46 receptions for 724 receiving yards with a pair of scores. James joined Kansas City Chiefs during free agency while Giants decided to trade for tight end Darren Waller who will pose an enormous threat against opposing defenses if healthy.
In 2022, the Dallas Cowboys went 12-5 and advanced to their second consecutive postseason appearance. Their wild-card round win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-14 on the road was impressive but their divisional round game against the San Francisco 49ers (19-12) proved too much of an opponent for them to overcome. Dak Prescott led his Cowboys team in passing for 2,860 yards and 23 touchdowns over 12 regular-season games, along with 15 interceptions – his most ever during his seven-year career.
Tony Pollard led the Cowboys’ backfield in 2022 and will lead it again this time around. He had 193 carries for 1,007 yards and nine touchdowns during regular season play while also catching 39 passes for 371 yards and three scores. Ezekiel Elliott posted 876 yards and 12 touchdowns on 231 carries in 2022 but is no longer with Dallas so Pollard will become their go-to guy in 2023.
CeeDee Lamb was Dak Prescott’s favorite target last season, amassing 107 receptions for 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns. At the same time, tight end Dalton Schultz contributed 577 receiving yards and five scores off of 57 catches – however, Schultz left Dallas to join Houston Texans. At the same time, Dallas added Brandin Cooks (699) who recorded 699 receiving yards with the Texans last season to strengthen its receiving corps.
The Cowboys have the better team; the Giants have the better coaching staff. I like the Cowboys in this game by -3 points.
