Every week, it has been predicted that this will be the week in which the Bengals break out, but none has materialized thus far. A breakout seems unlikely given that their defense has failed them.. Dallas Cowboys had dropped four of five games entering this matchup and allowed 34 points over that span, but since Micah Parsons and DeRon Bland returned, their presence has significantly strengthened Dallas’ defensive efforts. Opponents must account for Parsons’ presence when designing their strategy to protect their quarterback, which may prove challenging onMonday as the Bengals rank 17th in quarterback protection. Bland and Trevon Diggs’ expected return this week gives Dallas an improved pass defense, currently ranking 13th in the league. Offensively, Dallas showed its potency in running the ball and got an outstanding performance from Dowdle during Thanksgiving Day’s contest. They must establish the run, opening up opportunities against Cincinnati’s 27th-ranked pass defense. Don’t expect Cincinnati’s 29th-ranked pass rush to bother Rush much either; thus, I prefer taking points here in this matchup.
