The Yaamava’ Resort & Casino has debuted a new luxury spa, a new pool, and 432 guest rooms. The casino reportedly has the most slots in the western United States. According to reports, the casino’s management plans to rebrand the property while preserving its history.
The resort’s general manager, Peter Arceo, revealed that when it initially opened in 1986, it was known as the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians.
“The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians first opened the property now known as Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel as a bingo hall on July 24, 1986,” he explained.
Arceo also noted that the development of the casino began years ago since the facility was expanded to 100,000 square feet in 1994.
“In 1994, it expanded into a 100,000 square foot casino that featured slot machines and card games,” Arceo said.
The casino changed its name from San Manuel Property to Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel. The term “Yaamava’” means “spring” in Serrano, and the casino’s design is inspired by the Serrano people’s lives.
“In the fall of 2021, the Tribe rebranded the property from San Manuel Casino to Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel. Yaamava’ is the Serrano word for ‘spring’ and the new visual identity is inspired by the ancestral lands of the Serrano people,” he added.
The Serrano Spa attracts numerous guests from all across California, especially given that the resort is just about an hour or hour and a half drive from Los Angeles. Due to its accessibility, it is considered an excellent alternative for California residents looking for a quick weekend break.
Meanwhile, Shane Upson, director of spa operations, did recommend the Turquoise Ocean Body Ritual to guests looking for an authentic experience.
The Turquoise Ocean Body Ritual is known for its comprehensive body treatment, which includes complete body enzyme exfoliation, a nourishing massage with botanical oils infused with eucalyptus and lavender, a cream wrap, and energizing brushing to boost circulation.
Furthermore, according to Matt Smith, the executive chef at Yaamava’ Resort and Casino, it also provides exceptional meals to satisfy any dietary preferences or concerns, including vegan options.
Some well-known vegan menus include the iconic Strawberry Fields Salad, which guests can have at Rock & Brews, as well as a variety of vegan salads. Visitors to George Lopez’s Chingon Kitchen can get a nutritious bowl as well as custom-made vegan burritos.
Meanwhile, for those who crave fried dishes, Hong Bao offers custom-made vegetable stir fry platters, garlic baby snow pea leaves, and house-made vegan chow mein. In-room meal options include vegan seitan bacon, penne primavera pasta, and salads, as well as vegan treats like their specialty panna cotta.
The resort also provides a variety of locations where couples may have a romantic getaway, including the Serrano Spa’s Love and Vitality couples massage.
Private cabanas, which can be reserved for a relaxed session, are ideal for a “romantic day by the pool.” Couples can enjoy romantic dinners at Decadence at Yaamava’, followed by a performance at Yaamava’ Theater.
