9. Frank Reich, Indianapolis Colts — $9.0 Million Per Year

In 2008, Frank Reich joined the Indianapolis Colts as an offensive assistant. He would become the Colts’ head coach a decade later. Before becoming the head coach of Indianapolis, Reich worked as an offensive assistant for three teams: Arizona, San Diego and Philadelphia.

He was an offensive coordinator for Philadelphia and helped lead the Eagles to their first Super Bowl championship in Super Bowl LII.

Reich has led the Colts to the playoffs twice without a franchise quarterback. This is a difficult feat.

10. Matt Rhule, Carolina Panthers — $8.5 Million Per Year

David Tepper, the Carolina Panthers’ owner, hired Matt Rhule after he had turned around two colleges in Temple and Baylor. Rhule signed a seven-year contract worth $8.5 million to continue his magic.

The Panthers are in rebuilding mode, and Rhule holds a record of 10-23 in regular-season play. They are still looking for a franchise quarterback, and rumours suggest that Carolina may be interested in trading Baker Mayfield, the former No.1 overall pick.

Rhule could be in the hot seat for another losing season as expectations continue to rise.
