The Kevin Durant trade talks seem to be dying down

Nearly a month ago, it was reported that Kevin Durant, the Brooklyn Nets’ star, was seeking to be traded. As the Nets’ star wanted to be traded, it caused a frenzy in the league. He had significant time remaining on his contract. Check out the best new bookmakers for betting on the NBA.

Although he was reported to be interested in the Miami Heat or Phoenix Suns, it is unlikely that either team has enough money to make a deal. It didn’t appear that Brooklyn was interested unless Phoenix offered Devin Booker. The Miami Heat likely don’t have anyone that could be transferred to Brooklyn under this deal. Really not many teams seem to have the assets to make the deal for Durant. Unless something breaks, it looks like Durant will return to the Nets.

Kevin Durant Trade Rumors

Brian Windhorst, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, says that the Kevin Durant sweepstakes are not very popular.

“From what I understand, the trade talks involving Kevin Durant have slowed to a trickle. You can still get some Nets folks on the phone if you wanna make an offer. But, they’re not aggressively, I’m told, making outgoing calls. The league is about to go on its first significant vacation in two years. People are scattering to Europe in the national parks, and Kevin Durant is still a Net. I don’t think that will change in the short-term future.”

Although there have been rumors of Kyrie Irving moving to the Los Angeles Lakers, those seem unlikely.

Brooklyn made impressive offseason moves this season, including adding TJ Warren to their roster and Royce O’Neale. They have a chance to win this year’s NBA Title if they can stay healthy and focus on basketball. If Durant can find a way to be happy in Brooklyn, the Nets could find themselves in the hunt this upcoming season.
