In Game Six of the Stanley Cup Final, the Colorado Avalanche will face the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Avalanche hold a 3-2 series advantage. The Avalanche are just one win away from winning the Stanley Cup, but they missed a chance to do so on home ice. They now hope to finish the series on the road. Game Five was won by the Lightning on the road, and they can force a Game Seven with a win at home in the next game. The Avalanche has dominated this series. Their offense scored 18 goals in five games, but only two in the most recent game. The top line has seen a rise in offense with the addition of six assists and eight goals by Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog. Andrew Cogliano, Mikko Rantanen and Andre Burakovsky have scored three goals each and 11 assists. In contrast, defensemen Cale Makar and Devon Toews have contributed three goals and six assists to the offense.

They should limit the Avalanche offense by Victor Hedman, Jan Rutta and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers on the blue line. This will prevent the Avalanche’s ability to find quick shots on the rush and limit shooting lanes. Andrei Vasilevskiy can make a lot of big saves in goal. To force Game Seven, the Lightning should win Game Six at their home.
