Casino operator Rootz has gained permission from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) to offer its casino games in the province. The Commission approved their license in January 2023, and players in the province of Ontario will soon have access to some of the most popular titles in their catalogs.
Canadian players can expect to see titles such as Wildz, Casino, and Wheelz. Its streaming brand, Spinz, will also become available as part of an upcoming deal.
Since its founding in 2018, Rootz has looked to expand its operations from Malta to other countries. Rootz CEO Lasse Rantala remarked how significant a gaming hotspot Ontario was, and how obtaining a license there was a crucial step for their future expansion.
“Ontario is an important market for us, and we welcome the opportunity provided by AGCO to become a licensed operator and to enter into an operational agreement with iGO.”

Rantala emphasized the importance of adhering to local regulations and reassured players and officials that all necessary measures would be taken to comply with these laws. He affirmed that their operations would “prioritize the need for safe, secure and fair play.”
Rootz also obtained a license to operate in Germany in September 2022, after some adjustments to the German regulations for gambling and gaming. The company acknowledged Germany’s lofty requirements, described in the then-recent State Treaty on Gambling.
“The strict compliance requirements within regulated markets such as Ontario and Germany will provide peace of mind to our customers that they are enjoying play experiences with a licensed provider.”

Beyond prioritizing safety, Rootz is also known for its customizable and inviting slot gameplay. Their titles often feature ways to choose different gameplay mechanics and earn new rewards while also offering novel themes to the casino market.
Rootz’s casino brands operate on its main platform. Players can connect their account and wallet to multiple games in their catalog, providing further convenience to their experience.
