If we’re honest, Yusei-Kikuchi needs to drastically alter his pitch mix as he throws his worst pitches. But that’s another story. Although we haven’t backed him personally this year, we’ll give this team a chance to prove their worth.

The projections for the Blue Jays seem to be obsessed with Adrian Martinez, but we can’t help but notice the 5.xx FIPs that he posted at his last two Triple A stops. Then, he wasn’t a prospect of any significance – so what’s changed? Overall, the Blue Jays have an incredible increase in offensive firepower, and we’re not surprised that they aren’t closer towards -190.

Detroit Tigers

Drew Hutchison has a bad reputation. If you haven’t already worked it out, we’re referring to the fact that he hasn’t been on a Major League mound for at least four years. With a 5.88 xERA and a 5.53 xERA, he hasn’t been a great reliever – so it’s a little bit of a mystery that he’s getting a check.

Although we doubt the Tigers want him to stay among their ranks for too long, there are a lot of things that can be done in just 4 IP. Tyler Alexander, the long man, is unlikely to be available after he worked 3.1 IP Monday. Although this doesn’t seem like a great spot in Detroit, the value here is still very low because Cal Quantrill isn’t great.
