Giants vs Vikings Preview
In an exciting opening-round playoff game at U.S. Bank Stadium, the Minnesota Vikings will host the New York Giants. Despite struggling down the stretch, they did enough to make it back into the playoffs. The Vikings’ win in the season’s final game helped them get back on track heading into the most crucial part of the season. This is also the second meeting between these two teams this season. The Vikings won the Christmas Eve game by three points. This one should be similar to that game, and if It is could be one of the most memorable games of the weekend for fans.
The Giants are just a few weeks away from losing a close game to the Vikings and would love nothing more than to win the most important matchup this season. Although the Giants have a losing road record, it’s clear that the Giants will be well-prepared for the rematch after having traveled to Minnesota previously. The Giants struggled down the stretch, and although the playoffs represent a fresh start, it remains to see if they can overcome their problems. Although the Giants lost the season’s final game to the Eagles, it was not too worrying considering they rested most of their starters; the team’s two wins in seven other games leaves much more reason for concern. Even though the Giants outperformed the Vikings in yardage, the loss to the Vikings was a game that the Giants should have won. This should fuel the Giants even more. Youth is a concern. This will be the first playoff game for many of New York’s players. They’ll need to stay focused.
Sterling Shepard (knee), who is still out, continues to make the wide receiver room a mess. The defense is also in the spotlight. Leonard Williams (neck), and Azeez Ojulari(ankle) are both questionable for this matchup.
They know they have to win the rushing battle, and the Giants were able to do so when they first met. They should be confident in their ability to generate some production against Minnesota’s weak defense, as they have the league’s fourth-best running game. Minnesota’s defense is near the bottom of the league for pass defense. This will allow them to have some success with play-action, even though they are ranked low in the passing game. This will come down to Daniel Jones ability to make just a few big plays, if he does the Giants have a very good chance to pull the upset.

Minnesota Vikings Betting Tips
Minnesota, just a few weeks after a win against the Giants in the same building, knows that this time game will be a street fight. They lost the rushing battle in their first meeting, and they know that this time around, they will try to make up for it with a focus on the ground and winning possession. This has been a tremendous home-field advantage for the Vikings, who are currently 8-1 at home this season. This one will be lively and could be just as close as the previous one.
All eyes will be on Minnesota’s defense this Sunday; they have struggled all season and must show up and play their best game of the year to advance. The Vikings will need to run the ball effectively, Kirk Cousins’ sixth-ranked passing offense will ensure he gets plenty of opportunities, and a strong game will make them even more dangerous. Justin Jefferson is a top-ranked receiver in the league, and the Giants will not slow him down. Adam Theilen is another name worth keeping an eye on. Although he has had some issues recently, he remains a viable option to provide depth and protection. Success will be possible if the Vikings’ offensive lines can hold up.
When these two teams first met, the Giants played one of their best games while the Vikings had one of their worst. The Vikings still managed to win by three points. With the crowd likely to be more energetic and Minnesota moving faster, it will be easier to grab the win. They know winning the ground game battle will be crucial, and they have put a lot of emphasis on running the ball. This should allow them to manage the clock better than in their first meeting. With their receiver depth, a shootout will be an advantage due to the Giants’ lack of passing offense.
Brian Daboll has done a great job this season, and the Giants are a dangerous team for the Vikings to play. I look for the Giants to run the ball well, and if Daniel Jones can hit a couple of deep play-action passes, the Giants can win this game. In the Vikings’ earlier three-point win, they did not turn the ball over at all. I look for a couple of Vikings turnovers and a close game, take the 3 points and the Giants. If you want more value bet the Giants to win straight up as this game in my opinion will be a toss-up.
