Are Sportsbooks legal in Louisiana?

The Louisiana Gaming Control Board, the body that govern and regulate betting within LA state, approved the law which allowed 41 operators to enter the state and launch their operations leading up to the Super Bowl on February 13, 2022. Several bricks & mortar casinos offering sportsbooks opened up in October 2021 and are seen in cities including Baton Rouge and Bossier City. The famous Riverboat casinos also draw in LA bettors, in the popular resorts of Lake Charles and Kenner, with some having plans to move onto dry land now that regulations allow.
