November 2020: The majority of parishes in the state ā 55 from 64 ā voted in favor of sports betting which led to the bill being passed. However, subsequent laws also need to pass in order for the legalization to be set in stone.
August 2021: On August 23rd, emergency rules went into effect to speed up the legalization process.
September 2021: Hurricane Ida caused a planned September launch to be postponed to October 2021.
