Sports betting has officially been legalized in the state of New York much to the excitement of bettors in the Empire State. Many have been excited for the arrival of the first batch of sports betting operators.
Betway is one of the most popular sports betting platforms in the world, never mind the United States. Thus, it was a highly requested platform amongst New York bettors. However, much to their dismay, Betway won’t be coming to New York. Not just yet anyway!
Don’t worry though, New York bettors can sign up with a sportsbook, legally. The New York Betting Commission has approved nine operators for the start of 2022. Better yet, four of those have been given the green light to open their virtual doors early (check out the Caesars NY welcome bonus) and simply…what a start to the year?!
Since we won’t be seeing Betway in New York we’ll have to take a look at other legal sportsbooks in the Empire State. Four operators launched on the 8th of January after opening ahead of schedule. Luckily we have a good variety of operators to choose from, and they’re all excellent, so it’s certainly a tough choice!
The first option you could consider is FanDuel. You may have heard of them before because they’ve been around since 2009. That is longer than most other sportsbooks in this list, so if you’re looking for a reputable sportsbook with plenty of years behind their name, this one could be ideal for you. FanDuel is also great for newcomers. And that’s not only due to the enticing FanDuel New York sign up offer, their platform is easy to understand and use. In fact, it’s perfect for your first time in sports betting!
Betrivers is another great operator that has been given the green light to launch their platform early. They have a good reputation, and they’re known for being one of the safest and most secure operators around.
The third platform that you can take a look at is Caesars. Caesars has a great reputation amongst U.S sports bettors and they are known for having better odds than most other operators. Caesars also thrives on constant bonuses and promotions which is ideal to keep you coming back. One drawback of Caesars though is that you’ll have to wait for an app to be developed. The website is not great, and there’s currently no Caesars app available yet.
Last but not least on the list is DraftKings. DraftKings is one of the most famous sportsbooks in the U.S and it’s arrival has been massively anticipated by New Yorkers. DraftKings was founded in 2012 and gained traction quickly since then to become one of the most popular operators in the U.S.
In addition to the four operators above, there are five more on the list of New York sportsbooks launching soon. Hopefully they will be up and running in time for the Big Game in early February. Below are some of the upcoming NY sportsbooks to keep an eye out for:
Remember, you can always sign up to different operators and try each one to see which would suit your needs best!
