In 6 games, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics to win the 2022 NBA Finals. Stephen Curry and the Warriors won 103-90 in game six at Boston. Check out the best bookmakers for betting on the NBA.
Although the Celtics had a strong run to the finals, they couldn’t seem to get much going offensively. Although the Celtics did well at the start of the series, Golden State made adjustments and they were able to create offensive plans. Jayson Tatum’s poor basketball skills in the Finals didn’t help. He scored just 13 points in game 6, which took him 40 minutes to complete. This was his worst game in the NBA playoffs and happened at the worst time possible. Tatum has had a history of disappearing in big moments and that happened during the Finals.
Grant Williams, a role player, had an interesting postseason. He was a key reason the Boston Celtics defeated the Milwaukee Bucks in round two of the Eastern Conference playoffs. This was probably their most difficult task to reach the finals.
Grant Williams stated in a recent interview that he believes the Celtics are a better team than the Warriors but that they lack discipline.
“We used to say Everything Easter. I don’t know where he came up with Everything Easter, I don’t know what it means… Next thing you know we just kinda rode the wave… Maybe (JB) went to a fortune teller and they told him that.”
“When I’ve reflected and looked back to those games, I still would say confidently — confidently — to this day they weren’t the better team. I would say they were the more disciplined team. I would say that without a doubt.”
Given that the Boston Celtics lost the series finale, it’s difficult to agree with Grant Williams’s interview. He might have a point if they got into a fight. But basketball is all about discipline. The Celtics averaged so many turnovers that it’s hard to believe they even made it all the way to the NBA Finals. Grant Williams needs to be quiet.
