Las Vegas Strip, where all the major casino players are located, is going to have another casino establishment coming up after Golden Nugget owner Tilman Fertitta purchased on the Strip.
The Strip, which is located on Las Vegas Boulevard South in Clark County, is home to many of the most famous hotels, casinos, and resort properties in the world. Names like Caesars Entertainment, MGM Resorts International, and Wynn Resorts have been major destinations for either tourists or local people for a long time. However, Fertitta is not afraid to come face-to-face against the giants.
He just bought 6.2-acres of land and spent $270 million a few weeks ago. Fertitta, who also owns an NBA franchise the Houston Rockets has big plans for his new business on the Strip.
Casino.org’s Scott Roeben “believes the billionaire plans to make the east side of that section of the Strip as luxurious as the west side.” the journalist also said that the “odds are heavily against Fertitta building a Golden Nugget on the land. ‘Think fancier.’”
According to calculation, Fertitta bought an eye-watering $43.5 million per acre, a number that shows how valuable prime Strip land now sells for.
“The land now owned by Fertitta is currently occupied by a Travelodge motel, strip mall, and parking lot,” according to Casino.org report. “The property is directly across from CityCenter and several of the Strip’s most luxurious properties, including the Aria and Cosmopolitan, as well as the non-gaming Waldorf Astoria and Vdara.”
On the other hand, another casino company has also just broken ground on the Strip this week. Dream Las Vegas will occupy Las Vegas Boulevard near McCarran International Airport. The new place is two blocks from Allegiant Stadium and quite close to T-Mobile Arena.
“Dream Las Vegas will include seven dining and nightlife venues: a rooftop deck, bar and lounge; three feature restaurants; two additional bar and lounge concepts on the gaming floor; and a grab-and-go café on the street level,” Hotel Management said. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2024.
