Canadian gaming operator Gateway Casino & Entertainment is holding virtual job fairs, offering hundreds of job opportunities in preparation for the Cascades Casino Delta opening. The casino is expected to open by this fall, with up to 600 job openings and a $99.3 million investment in the economy in Delta, British Columbia.
The virtual job fairs will be held on July 28 and August 3. There might be other recruiting events, and an announcement will be made in the coming weeks.
In a press release, vice-president of operations, Rowland England, said, “Our goal is to create memorable experiences for our guests. To do that we need to grow our team.”
England also said that the project would empower local human resources to fill the positions that are needed. “We are looking for those that share our passion for people and commitment to exceptional customer service,” he said.
He concluded by saying “I know we will find great local residents to join our team and deliver on this commitment.”
There are several job opportunities available, including casino, security officer, and kitchen staff. For the casino department, dealers, dealer supervisors, and slot attendants are currently in the recruitment process, as well as guest service representatives and supervisors.
Other available positions include cashiers, count team members and supervisors, cooks, assistant chefs, sous chefs, restaurant servers, bartenders, hosts, and dishwashers. Interested applicants are welcome to apply for their desired position through Gateway & Entertainment’s website.
Currently, Gateway has made its first hire for the new casino, where they have acquired Rick Tite as the food and beverage manager. Previously, Tite had worked for Gateway in 2014 at Grand Villa Casino Burnaby and got promoted to a senior culinary role at Starlight Casino New Westminster.
“I am thrilled to be a part of the community and embark on this new adventure here in Delta.” Tite said. “Our commitment is to ensure every guest that visits us leaves with a memorable experience. I look forward to meeting you all and creating some wonderful moments together.”
