Louisiana allows betting on college sports, unlike other states like Illinois, New Jersey, the Empire State, and Virginia, among others. This is fantastic news for sports bettors in Louisiana who’re also huge fans of college sports.
However, there are just a few things you need to know before betting on college sports in the Bayou State.

Here’s how you can bet
While many sports bettors in the state of Louisiana can’t wait to place their bets on the NFL playoffs, there are also college sports fans who are looking forward to another event in the near future. This event is going to draw a lot of attention due to wagering on it being legal.
The event we’re referring to is the NCAA’s March Madness Men’s basketball tournament. Yes, Louisiana is a football state, but don’t underestimate how the power of
legal sports betting in Louisiana
is going to draw out all the excited college sports fans!
College-loving sports betting fans have plenty of options when it comes to wagering on college sports teams; however, this will only be possible within the 55 parishes where sports betting is legal.
Thus, Louisiana sportsbook customers that reside in parishes that voted for the legalization of sports betting can wager on any college program of their choice, including in-state schools for college football and basketball. Best of all, this doesn’t only mean wagering on a game-by-game basis, but it also includes future bets.
Here’s where you can bet
All available sportsbooks will be taking bets on college sports with a primary focus on basketball and football, and this also means that you can place wagers in championship games as well. The odds for college sports are expected to be more or less the same between the available sportsbooks; however, this can change during the course of the season.
Here are some online Sportsbooks In Louisiana where you’ll be able to bet on college sports:
DraftKings:
DraftKings
is one of your more famous sports betting operators across the US, and for good reason. DraftKings has already made a name for itself with its famous Daily Fantasy Sports platform which is available in 47 parishes. Partnering with the Casino Queen company, this sportsbook is a great go-to for some fun college sports betting.

Barstool Sportsbook:
Barstool is the pride and joy of Penn National Gaming Inc., which already owns five casinos in Louisiana. Barstool offers a fun and quality sports betting experience, so opting for this operator is also a solid choice.
Barstool Sportsbook
already has several retail locations located at the casino sites, but the online version will most likely be hugely popular among college sports bettors.
FanDuel:
FanDuel is known for being DraftKings’ Daily Fantasy Sports’ biggest competitor as well as a top sportsbook with a fantastic app. FanDuel is another option you can consider for the upcoming March Madness men’s basketball tournament and a great event where you can make use of your
