This is a matchup of College Football Titans as the Georgia Bulldogs look for their third straight title and the Crimson Tide look to roll the clock back to their glory days. This is not the mismatch we saw last year in the SEC Championship game, and Alabama is a real threat to ending the Georgia reign!
So we’re supposed to assume that Alabama is some dominant runaway juggernaut, even though they needed an impossible play to overcome an Auburn team that had just been thoroughly outclassed by New Mexico State the week prior – rivalry be damned, you don’t rack up 213 total yards while losing 31-10 in your own house to a Conference USA opponent!
Alabama has been outstanding over the last several weeks, with Jalen Milroe emerging as one of the more entertaining quarterbacks in the country. However, errors can still happen, and mistakes must be managed appropriately.
Bama has largely avoided turnovers over the last several weeks. Yet, small mistakes like flirting with and going past the line of scrimmage on several key throws against Auburn and, without placing the blame solely on Milroe, missing a snap that forced an unusual situation..
Error-free performances must be the goal.
No turnovers occurred against Auburn, but there were eight penalties – Georgia is among the best teams nationally regarding minimal penalties.
Georgia was outstanding last week in scoring touchdowns and field goals inside Georgia’s red zone – two touchdowns, two field goals, and an empty trip. Georgia is genuinely unstoppable when it comes to red zone offense.
No longer does Georgia boast a pass rush defense like it once did; opponents are averaging about four yards per play against it, and Alabama will experience some success.
Things have improved throughout the second half of the season thanks to Milroe’s mobility; however, Alabama ranks 113th nationally for allowed sacks while also giving up too many plays behind its lines.

Who else on Georgia’s schedule can match this team athlete-for-athlete, five-star-for-five-star and NFL prospect-for-NFL prospect?
Ole Miss was no easy opponent, yet Georgia looked exceptional against them. Beating Missouri by nine was certainly impressive, and ramping up intensity to achieve victory was breathtaking – yet, this bunch wasn’t exactly battle-tested.
Georgia was fortunate that its schedule wasn’t as onerous as had been predicted before the season; Georgia didn’t need to deal with LSU, Texas A&M or any team even close to Texas quality.
Alabama now possesses one of the most explosive passing games in the country – Georgia hasn’t dealt with anything remotely like Alabama’s offensive performance and so far, they haven’t encountered a team who could challenge Alabama.
Bama has been battle-tested against better competition, but Georgia has been here before!

The difference will be turnovers, and Jalen Milroe will have at least one, and a second one swings this game in the Bulldogs favor. Georgia 27Β Alabama 20
