Murray’s status will play a massive role in this game, as bench production has been Denver’s biggest unknown factor this season. They haven’t gotten much outside of Christian Braun, and his production has been inconsistent at best. When healthy, Denver doesn’t need much assistance outside their starting five; that changes when one starter goes down.
The Nuggets were 13-10 without Murray during the regular season and 8-15 against the spread (ATS). If he remains sidelined, Jackson is expected to see an uptick in usage, assist rate, effective field goal percentage, and shot quality, according to pbpstats.com. This makes him likely to start in Murray’s absence, although we might see increased minutes from Braun or any of their starters regardless.
Nikola Jokic could see increased usage without Murray on the court and could look to increase his scoring output due to increased usage and scoring opportunities.
