Top 5 best bets for the Ruoff 500 at Phoenix Raceway

• Kyle Larson is again the favorite for this week’s race at Phoenix. Larson would currently be in my top 5 at any racetrack on any surface, in any car from dirt modifieds all the way through Nascar’s top circuit. Larson is simply just the best there is right now in the world of auto racing. Larson is +400 to win, -110 to finish in the top 3, and -225 to finish in the top five.

• Denny Hamlin is off to a rough start in 2022 with his best finish being 15th at Fontana. Hamlin has proven to be one of Nascar’s elite drivers, and I look for him to have a strong finish this week at Phoenix, a track that he historically drives well at finishing 3rd twice there in 2021. Hamlin is +800 to win, +174 to finish in the top three, and –120 to finish in the top five.

• Chase Elliot has driven well this year, but he has run into some bad luck keeping him out of finishing in the top 5, most notably being wrecked by his teammate Kyle Larson at Fontana. Despite the bad luck however, Elliot has managed to secure two top-ten finishes in three races and is a past winner at Phoenix Raceway. I look for Elliot to run a strong race this week and be in contention to win. Elliot is +800 to win, +175 to finish in the top three, and –125 to finish in the top five.

• Martin Truex Jr has not been in my top five yet this season, however, this week is different. Truex historically finishes well at Phoenix winning the Ruoff 500 in 2021. This season Truex’s best finish came last week at Las Vegas with an 8th place finish. Look for Truex to continue his momentum this week in Phoenix with another strong finish. • Kevin Harvick has competed in 38 cup races at the Phoenix Raceway and has won there a staggering 9 times. To say Harvick historically drives well at Phoenix would be an understatement. Look for Harvick to be competing for his 10th win at Phoenix toward the end of the race. Harvick is +1800 to win, +450 to finish in the Top3, and +180 to finish in the top 5. A strong finish from Harvick this week could pay off big.
