We are already in the third week of the 2023 Nascar season as the teams and drivers head to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Pennzoil 400. Unlike last week it looks like we are going to have great racing weather in the desert wonderland of Las Vegas. Last year we had some great finishes in Vegas, with Alex Bowman and Joey Logano taking home wins in Sin City. Last season proved NASCAR was on the right track with the Next Gen car, showing that 1.5-mile tracks can still be exciting. With Las Vegas being the first 1.5-mile track of the season, fans might get spoiled with this multiple-grove track that makes it easy to pass. We are also sure to see some three-wide and four-wide racing at some point on Sunday.

Kyle Larson

Larson’s season seems like it’s off to a terrible start, Larson was wrecked out of the Daytona 500 midway through the race, then in Fontana, he had an electrical problem that put him several laps down at the start of the race. However, Larson is still one of the best drivers in all American motorsports and I don’t expect to see his string of bad luck continue. It would surprise me at all to see Larson pick up his first win of the season in Sin City this weekend. I expect to see Larson Qualify well and be in contention to win near the end of the race. Larson is +700 to win, +200 to finish in the top 3, and +100 to finish in the top 5.

Joey Logano

Logano might be the only Ford running consistently right now. Logano who was almost able to pull out a Daytona 500 win a couple of weeks ago has picked up right where he left off after winning the cup last season. If Logano who has won at Las Vegas three times, stays out of trouble and can keep his Ford from falling apart, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Logano comes away from Las Vegas with a top 5 finish, and possibly a win. Logano is +800 to win, +240 to finish in the top 3, and +120 to finish in the top 5.

Martin Truex Jr.

Truex Jr. has won in Las Vegas twice and has certainly proven he can win in Sin City. Truex Jr. makes the top five best bets this week due to the exit of chase Elliott who suffered a leg injury Friday while snowboarding in Colorado. Truex Jr. has yet to crack the top 10 in the first two races of the season. However, when betting on Nascar races I think your best chance is to pick a driver that has won in the past at the track they are running on. Truex Jr. is +1000 to win, +300 to finish in the top 3, and +140 to finish in the top 5.

Keselowski is +5000 to win, +1500 to finish in the top 3, and +650 to finish in the top five. The best bet here is to bet on Keselowski to finish in the top 5.
