For example, the odds as of a few days before the fight are averaging out to Cruz +200 to win. If you bet 100 on Cruz to win, the payout would be 200 dollars, which means you would get back the 100 you bet and the other 200 for winning the bet.  To me, the best bet on this fight is betting Cruz by decision at +280, which on a 100-dollar bet pays 280 dollars, plus you get the 100 dollars you bet back.
