Ponzinibbio won his last fight via knockout against Alex Morono, while Salikhov brings an intriguing style influenced by the Chinese kickboxing discipline Wushu Sanda.
Another welterweight battle between Gabriel Bonfim and Ange Loosa will also be on the main card. Bonfim, like his brother, is highly touted and looks to prove himself against Loosa after suffering his first loss at his last fight versus Bryan Battle (which ended due to an accidental eye poke). Both men will surely put on an entertaining spectacle as they seek a statement victory against one another.

Due to Namajunas being more proven and Cortez being on such short notice, seeing “Thug Rose” winning by two goals doesn’t shock me.
Cortez may have already been training for her fight this Saturday at only one week out, but that preparation was for a completely different opponent and in three rounds. Had Cortez been facing Namajunas on a full camp in a smaller octagon such as UFC Apex I’d seriously consider taking my chances with Cortez given their stylistic differences and consider making my decision at that time.
Namajunas’ defense can often be compromised by superior wrestlers and clinch fighters; Cortez appears to possess an effective strategic presence led by Santino DeFranco.
As this fight takes place inside a big cage, Cortez has an uphill task catching Namajunas with her fleet-footed movements. Combine this with her tendency for getting countered off kicks by Namajunas, and I find myself favoring Namajunas over Cortez in this fight.
Namajunas appears confident heading into this Saturday’s contest – which usually poses difficulty for her opponent.
