Charles Oliveira was the former UFC lightweight champion. He lost his title because he had missed weight before his win over Justin Gaethje at UFC 274 in May. Now, he will be attempting to regain his UFC gold due to taking on Islam Makhachev, a Russian MMA phenom.
UFC 280’s co-main event is expected to feature a UFC men’s bantamweight title fight between Aljamain Sterling, the current champion, and T.J. Dillashaw, the former champion.
Sterling and Dillashaw were initially scheduled to headline UFC 279’s main event.. The bantamweight title fight is now rumored for UFC 280 in Oct.
UFC 280, along with the UFC title fights, is a stacked event with huge division implications.
Petr Yan, a former UFC men’s bantamweight champion, will face Sean O’Malley in a UFC bantamweight final. Beneil Dariush, a highly ranked MMA fighter from Poland, will take on Mateusz Gamrot (former KSW lightweight champion). Check out the
