Let’s look ahead at the upcoming schedule currently listed by Legends Fight Series, with MMA and boxing dates taking us from Thanksgiving weekend into 2027.
For fans who followed Buckeye Fight Night, the next question is straightforward: Where will those fighters compete again, and what kind of challenge should come next?
The promotion’s current calendar includes Fightsgiving in Newport, a January boxing and MMA weekend in Newark, and an Arnold Classic listing for March. Each stop gives us something to follow as opponents are announced and the cards take shape.
November 28: Fightsgiving at MegaCorp Pavilion
First up is Saturday, November 28, 2026, when LFS brings MMA to MegaCorp Pavilion in Newport, Kentucky, for its Thanksgiving-weekend event, Fightsgiving. Doors open at 6 p.m. Eastern, with the event scheduled for 7 p.m.
For our Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky audience, this is the next local date to circle—a chance to spend part of the holiday weekend watching regional combat sports. Plan to arrive early enough to get inside, find your seat, and catch the opening action.
There is already a championship matchup to discuss. The Combat Sports Now listing advertises Travis Hudson against Ilyaz “The Turkish Machine” Mamadaliyev for the professional lightweight title. That gives Fightsgiving an early focal point as the rest of the event develops.
Before making a pick, we want to examine the details that can decide a fight: recent opposition, preferred pace, and the ability to adjust when an opponent takes away the first option.
Who can dictate where the exchanges happen? How does each respond when forced to defend for an extended stretch? And what happens when the fight moves outside either man’s strongest area?
Those are the questions we’ll look to explore through interviews and matchup breakdowns as November 28 approaches.
The wider matchmaking conversation also remains open. Looking back at Buckeye Fight Night, which names would fans most like to see on a future LFS card—Corey Dulaney, Dashawn Haynes, Christian Ramirez, Josh Hoschar, or another competitor who caught their attention?
Those names are discussion points, not announced additions to Fightsgiving. We’ll identify returning fighters as their bouts are officially announced.
January 15: Boxing Opens the Newark Weekend
The calendar then turns to Friday, January 15, 2027, when LFS lists boxing at Cherry Valley Hotel & Ohio Event Center in Newark, Ohio. Combat Sports Now identifies the event as LFS Boxing Friday Night Fights.
Boxing belongs in this preview because we want readers to have the complete currently listed LFS schedule. For fans who follow both sports, Newark offers the beginning of a two-night weekend worth watching.
As the boxing card develops, our attention will turn to the announced opponents, scheduled rounds, and experience levels. A record provides a starting point, but understanding a matchup requires looking at how those rounds were earned and what each opponent brings.
Can a developing boxer maintain an effective pace over the scheduled distance? Will an opponent test defensive discipline, footwork, or the ability to make adjustments between rounds?
We also want to hear which regional boxers deserve more attention. Whose story should we tell before January 15, and which fighters would you like to see interviewed on The Grueling Truth?
January 16: MMA Follows at Cherry Valley
The following night, Saturday, January 16, 2027, LFS lists MMA at Cherry Valley in Newark. That puts boxing on Friday and MMA on Saturday at the same listed venue, giving fans an opportunity to follow both sports in one weekend.
For any Buckeye Fight Night competitors who eventually appear on that January card, development will be a central storyline.
What did their last appearance reveal? What did they work on afterward? Can they show a meaningful improvement when the next opponent presents a different problem?
An impressive finish naturally creates interest in a fighter’s next assignment. It also raises a useful matchmaking question: Should that fighter face a more experienced opponent, or someone at a similar stage who presents a different style?
The answer depends on the individual. We want matchups that give both competitors a worthwhile test and help fans understand where each stands.
Tell us the matchup you would make—and what both fighters would gain from it.
March 2027: Arnold Classic Plans Remain on the Radar
Looking farther ahead, LFS also includes an Arnold Classic event in its March plans. A clearly confirmed event date and complete details remain necessary before we can offer a fuller preview.
For now, it belongs on the radar. As more information becomes available, we’ll look at the announced format, participating fighters, and matchups.
Across all these stops, our focus will stay on confirmed fights, fighter interviews, and the stories connecting one appearance to the next. A result tells us who won. The next matchup can reveal how much a fighter learned.
Which upcoming stop interests you most: Fightsgiving in Newport, the January boxing and MMA weekend in Newark, or the planned Arnold Classic event?
The next chapter starts November 28 at MegaCorp Pavilion. We’ll follow the announcements and help you get to know the fighters before they step into the spotlight, right here on The Grueling Truth: CageSide Preview.
