The Steve Asmussen-trained EPICENTER was runner up in both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes this year and will likely return for more in Saturday’s Belmont Stakes.
Epicenter was caught late by Rich Strike in the Kentucky Derby. He could see him again after the horse had escaped the Preakness Stakes.
Epicenter has run another solid race since then to record his third-second place finish in his last six races. He finished a 1 1/4 length second at the Preakness Stakes Pimlico racecourse three weeks ago.
