Pacioretty is expected to return early to mid-February, given his six-month turnaround. On February 11, 2023, the Hurricanes will face their Metropolitan Division rivals, New York Rangers. The Hurricanes and Rangers were first and second in their division’s regular season. The Hurricanes had 116 regular-season points, while the Rangers had 110.
Pacioretty scored 19 goals and 18 assists in 39 games between 2021-22. This earned him 37 points. He was a +8 and had 33 penalty minutes, 12 Power-Play points, and four game-winning goals.
Pacioretty played two three-point games. Two goals and one assist gave Pacioretty three points in the 4-3 win by the Golden Knights over the Seattle Kraken. He then scored one goal and two assists to score three points in the 6-4 win owe to the Minnesota Wild two months later.
This past season, Pacioretty was subject to numerous injuries. These injuries included a fractured wrist and foot. While with the Montreal Canadiens in the early part of his career, Pacioretty suffered a broken wrist and cervical vertebrae. He also sustained a serious concussion from being hit by Zdeno Chara of the Boston Bruins. In 2012-13 Pacioretty was awarded the Bill Masterton award for his perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey. In 79 games, he scored 33 goals and 32 assists, scoring 65 points.
From 2008 to 2018, Pacioretty stayed in Montreal for ten seasons. In 626 games, he scored 448 points with 226 goals and 22 assists. Pacioretty was the NHL’s leader in game-winning goals in 2013-14 with 11, and he led the NHL for plus/minus (+38) in 2014-15.
From 2015 to 2018, Pacioretty was also captain of the Canadiens. Many were shocked when Pacioretty was named the Canadiens captain from 2015 to 2018.
From 2018 to 2022, Pacioretty was with Vegas and had 97 goals as well as 97 assists. This totaled 194 points over 224 games. He was an All-Star in 2019-20 for the first time. Coghlan, a defenseman from Duncan in British Columbia, had 13 points last year with the Golden Knights. He had 10 assists and three goals. The Golden Knights were his home for the past two seasons.
