Carolina beat New York 3-1 at home. The Hurricanes shot twice as many shots as the Rangers and outshot them by 34-17. Andrei Svechnikov was the leader of Carolina with five shots. Teuvo Teravainen, Seth Jarvis and Nino Niederreiter followed with four each. New York had only one player with four shots: Ryan Strome. There were also two players with two shots each, Mika Zibijad and Andrew Copp.
The Hurricanes scored goals from Vincent Trocheck and Teravainen, while the Rangers received one from Zibanejad. Carolina scored a short-handed, power-play and even-strength goal.

Carolina is riding high with the momentum from its win. However, it hasn’t won any postseason games on the road this season. Game 6 will be at Madison Square Garden. The home team has won all of this series’ games. The Rangers have the chance to force a game seven against the Eastern Conference’s best team in this series. However, they will need Artemi Pantarin to lead the charge. He led New York to score 96 points but has only two points this series.
