According to new reports, Matthew Stafford is currently experiencing issues with his elbow. Los Angeles isn’t thrilled with this news, especially since they want to win the Super Bowl like they did last season. Check out the top sportsbooks for betting on the Rams this season.
Ian Rapoport reported the following:
βMy understanding, this elbow issue, which actually cropped up in the spring, is described to me as bad tendinitis,β Rapoport said of the Rams QB. βIt is a tendon issue in his throwing elbow. [Matthew Stafford] had a little of a procedure β not a surgery, but a procedure β more of a PRP-type deal in the offseason to try to manage it. [It] did not get to a place where he really needs it to be. I think long-term, everyone in L.A. thinks this is going to be fine. I donβt sense any stress about it, but itβs a quarterback. Itβs a throwing arm. Obviously, something we need to monitor going forward.β
Sean McVay chimed in on what heβs seen from Stafford:
βEven in routes on air, in the types of throws where youβre really seeing all parts of the field being activated, thatβs a really good thing,β McVay said. βAnd so Iβve definitely seen improvement. He was making those types of throws before, but being able just to do it in a smart fashion is kind of what weβre really hunting out.β
It will be difficult to see how the Rams handle this situation now. They won’t have the same success this season if Matthew Stafford isnβt the one throwing the passes to their elite receivers. There is a chance to be one the top teams in football again this year. Matthew Stafford will be an integral part of that. They have to find a way for him to stay healthy, and it has to happen within the first few weeks.
