Although five big-name quarterbacks dominate the early-season NFL MVP Race, it could become a two-horse race by the end of the season.
The best odds of Josh Allen winning the NFL MVP award are at +500, while Justin Herbert, the L.A. Chargers’ Q.B., is at +700.
The odds of winning the NFL’s most prestigious individual award are less than 10 per cent for perennial MVP candidates Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes. The back-to-back NFL MVP, Aaron Rodgers, isn’t even in the top five. Check out the best new sportsbooks to bet on the NFL!
We’ll examine the top five 2022-23 NFL MVP Award contenders.
Allen is the favourite to win the MVP award at +500 odds
Allen is a dual-threat Q.B. He threw 36 touchdowns and ran for six rushing points last year. Allen also threw for more than 4,400 yards and ran 763 yards rushing last season.
Allen has improved in the last four years, and this year may be his best yet.
Justin Herbert is a rookie in the NFL, but he already has a reputation as one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
Herbert threw over 4,300 yards and 31 passing touchdowns in his rookie year. He also had a 98.3 QB Rating and five rushing touchdowns. Herbert threw for more than 5,000 yards passing, with 38 passing touchdowns and a 97.7 quarterback rating. He also had three rushing touchdowns.
The Chargers drafted Rashawn Scott and Zion Johnson last year to bolster their offensive line. Herbert has a lot to choose from and excellent protection up front. This is his best season yet.
Tyreek Hill was traded from Kansas City to Miami, creating a massive void in the Kansas City Chiefs offense.
Although the Chiefs added receivers to the outside, Mahomes may need time to adjust to playing at a slower pace on the field. He will also need to adjust to his new weapons.
2022 will see newcomers Juju Smith Schuster, Marquez Valdes Scantling, and Skyy Moore catch balls from Mahomes.
Joe Burrow led his team to the Super Bowl after tearing his ACL halfway through his rookie season.
The Bengals assisted their offensive line in the offseason. Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are now the top W.R. duo. This should allow Burrow to continue his postseason success.
Burrow will make another leap in Year 3 with an improved offensive line, two top-tier wide receivers and a better offensive line.
Brady, 44 years old at the time, led the league last year in passing yards and passing touchdowns. Although Brady could have been awarded the MVP, the voters chose Rodgers.
Brady won’t have his usual tools in Tampa Bay now that Rob Gronkowski, the tight end, has retired.
However, it would be foolish to exclude him.
Brady will always be on the field and a worthy MVP candidate.
Josh Allen is the favorite award, but Justin Herbert may be the best choice to win MVP. Or is it Joe Burrow?
Herbert has more options than you think, with Keenan Allen (wide receiver) and Mike Williams (threw to), among others. Austin Ekeler at running back is a great receiver and rusher.
The Chargers have not been afraid to improve their offense during the NFL Draft. Los Angeles used their first-round pick last year to draft Rashawn Sloper. To further protect Herbert, the Chargers used Zion Johnson, their first-round selection this year.
Herbert was one of the league’s top young quarterbacks last season. Herbert threw more than 5,000 yards and had 41 T.D.s in 17 games.
To improve their defense, the Chargers signed J.C. Jackson and Khalil Mack. The Chargers will be able to win more games with an improved defense, which will increase Herbert’s chances of winning MVP.
The winner of the 2022 NFL MVP award will be Joe Burrow! Burrow is Joe Cool under pressure, and with an improved offensive line and an underrated defense, the Bengals are poised to have a tremendous season. A lot of people are underestimating this team and the talent this team has. Take Burrow and the longer odds.
