One of the largest sporting events of the year produces one of the largest questions of the year – who is going to be the 2024 Super Bowl winner?
Although we can’t predict the future, we can offer you our extensive guide on how to make your predictions on this year’s Super Bowl winner. Below, we look at the main types of Super Bowl winner bets, discuss how past performances and current form play their part, why you should look to unlock a Super Bowl bonus, and much more.
This game has all of the earmarks of a classic 50/50 matchup. Patrick Mahomes will attempt to win his third Super Bowl, while Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy will look to become an elite Quarterback. Both teams can control the game through the air or on the ground.
The 49ers were run through in their first two playoff games by the Packers and the Lions. The Chiefs are a bottom Ten-run defense, and they will face the most complete running back on the planet in Christian McCaffery. If CMC goes off, the 49ers will control the clock and, more importantly, the pace of the game. the Chiefs, on the other hand, should try to establish the run with Isiah Pacheco.
The problem with that is Andy Reid has a tendency to forget he has a running game, and it’s understandable when you have Patrick Mahomes throwing the ball. The issue with Mahomes throwing a lot is that the 49er’s secondary is solid, and outside of Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice, the Chiefs’ wide receivers are not very good. They dropped more passes than any team in the NFL this season.
I think CMC goes off, which sets Brock Purdy up to make some big plays with play-action passing. The spread is at 2.5 points as of right now. I do not think the spread will get any bigger, but I think a good possibility is that it drops to -2 or even -1.5. My play is to bet on the 49ers but wait until Sunday morning to see if the spread does drop. If you get the spread dropped to -1, bet immediately. Prediction: 49ers 27 Chiefs 23!
If you have ever looked at odds on football throughout the season, you will have stumbled across Super Bowl winner bets. As the name suggests, these types of bets rely solely on the outcome of the fixture and are most commonly known as moneylines & spreads. This is in contrast with Super Bowl prop bets where you bet on things unrelated to the game result.
When you place a moneyline, you are placing a wager on who you believe will be the Super Bowl winner. It is the most straightforward wager a bettor can place and, unsurprisingly, is one of the most popular types of wager, too.
A Super Bowl spread is very similar to a moneyline. But, the spread adds a handicap to both teams in order to level out the Super Bowl odds. The odds themselves are usually set at -110 for both teams.
You would expect the two teams that have made the Super Bowl final to be of a similar caliber. However, you will always have an underdog and a favorite.
Favorite (- 3) vs Underdog (+3)
If you select the favorite in the above example, your wager would be successful if the favorite won by 4 points or above. On the other hand, if you choose the Underdog, your wager would win even if they lost by 2.
Unfortunately, there are no guarantees with sports betting. However, in this next section, we look to offer a little overview of how you can better predict the outcome of Super Bowl LVIII.
