Our Best Super Bowl 58 Player Prop Bets – Expert Tips!

It’s time again as we look at the top individual prop bets for Super Bowl LVIII. Some of these may surprise you, while others will look like no-brainers. This should be a close game, and with two excellent defenses, points could be at a premium, but both teams have the offense to put some points up on the board.

Isiah Pacheco Under 16.5 Rushing Attempts (-105):

Pacheco has amassed 17-plus carries in six out of 17 games, averaging 14.6 average during regular season play; however, during playoff games, he amassed 24, 15 and 24 total carries per game! Two “24 game wins” came against the Dolphins and Ravens. Their other win came over the Bills when they trailed on 79% of snaps but prevailed narrowly.

Game-script splits are key here, as the Super Bowl should be an intense closely played contest. Notably, the 49ers have led on 55% of their snaps this season – second only to the Ravens for most in the NFL.

San Francisco’s defense has allowed an average of 16.5 RB carries per game during the regular season and 15.6 during divisional play; no back has exceeded 19 against them at any one time this season; only two even reached 17 carries (Aaron Jones had 18 and Jerome Ford 17 respectively in Week 16). When betting even money or less than even odds on under, lean under!

Nick Bosa Must Exceed 2.5 Total Tackles (-170) And Over 0.5 Assists (-230):

Last week Bosa earned exactly three solo tackles (one which initially counted as an assist but later turned solo!). (Ouch!). Still, both plays remain strong players even at an uninspiring level, so I’ll turn back to these same options.

Bosa has played 81% of 49ers defensive snaps this season, excluding Week 18 when he only saw seven plays; that number leaps to 95% during playoff games. Bosa has averaged 3.2 total tackles (with at least three in 13 out of 18 games, including 12 consecutive), as well as 1.1 assists (at least once every 12 outings) per game this season.

Deebo Samuel Under 13.5 Rushing Yards (-110):

Samuel could make this bet look silly with just one touch, but the odds still favor the under. Samuel has seen his rushing workload decline considerably over his last 17 games, with 40 total carries for 72 yards over that time span; 11 of his 17 carries fell below 14 yards rushing, including six in his last seven (11 for 72 total in that span alone).

Samuel didn’t take any carries against Green Bay or Detroit before eventually managing 7 yards on three carries against Detroit. Over 21 WR carries, equal numbers have resulted in negative (-1 and 5 yards), as they did over 13 (14 and 18).

Nick Bolton Over 2.5 Assists (+125):

Bolton has battled injuries throughout the year yet still managed to rack up at least three assists in six out of 11 games (64%). With one exception being last week against Baltimore when they called only 11 running plays for just 57 total snaps.

Three other exceptions occurred when his snap share maxed out at 90%; in total, he played on 97% or more snaps in three playoff games and averages an impressive 3.3 assist average for those three playoff matches against San Francisco this season compared with 25 other off-ball linebackers reaching this plateau this season!

Ji’Ayir Brown Under 6.5 Total Tackles (-150):

Brown is a third-round rookie safety who took over for Talanoa Hufanga after his ACL tear sidelined him in Week 10. Since then, Brown has started six consecutive games and played 100% of snaps – averaging an average of 6.2 total tackles per game and only reaching seven tackles once (last week against the Lions when his defense saw 72 plays! Plus, the Chiefs allow below-average tackles per safety; more reasons to take under.

McDuffie has produced either zero or one assist in 12 out of 19 games (63%), with five out of his last six showing this trend. His season average stands at 1.2 per game despite an unattractive vig. But consider this matchup — only ten corners have managed more than one assist against them.

Watson had at least two receptions in seven of the first nine games this season before Rashee Rice emerged, and his usage has dropped off dramatically since Week 12. Since that point, Watson has caught no more than two passes in eight out of 10 games since Week 12; even when targeted two or three times per game during Chiefs playoff games, he only caught three passes out of five targets for a total of three catches on five targets.

Best Patrick Mahomes Prop Bets

Patrick Mahomes has made history during his six seasons as Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, reaching six AFC Championship games and four Super Bowls. Now, he will make history again as he competes for another championship ring this year.

Mahomes is already an accomplished two-time Super Bowl Champion and MVP, leading the Kansas City Chiefs past the San Francisco 49ers to win his first Super Bowl before winning again against the Philadelphia Eagles last season. Mahomes now stands a chance at not only becoming a three-time champ but becoming the first quarterback since Tom Brady with the Patriots to win back-to-back championships since 2003-04.

Mahomes and the Chiefs will face off with the 49ers once more this season and are underdogs, so although Mahomes might struggle to win his third Super Bowl and MVP trophy, there may still be value available in bettors with several player props featuring Mahomes that offer insight.

Patrick Mahomes Must Complete Over 260.5 Passing Yards (-115 at DraftKings).

Patrick Mahomes achieved two Super Bowl victories while throwing for more than 270 yards each time and managed three touchdowns.

Mahomes appears healthy heading into this year’s Super Bowl, and given that the 49ers’ defence has struggled against both Jordan Love and Jared Goff as passers during playoff games, I expect Mahomes to throw for over 260 yards.

Patrick Mahomes Completed 25.5 Passes (-110 on DraftKings).

Over 36.5 attempts can also be a lucrative play since this number falls more under Mahomes’s control than completions; plus, it seems he and his receivers have more synergy than during the regular season.

Mahomes hasn’t had to throw as much this postseason thanks to his strong defense, but I see the 49ers defense giving Mahomes plenty of trouble, forcing him into throwing more often than usual during this postseason run, and he has more than proven his abilities by completing over 25 passes so far while seeing Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice step up their games recently.

Patrick Mahomes Over 0.5 Interceptions (+115 on FanDuel).

My prediction remains the same – Mahomes must take an aggressive stance in this Super Bowl matchup to maximize his chances of success and avoid making costly errors that will force him into airing it out.

Mahomes has improved his play following a turbulent regular season and has not thrown any interceptions so far in three postseason games. Still, I see that changing against an aggressive 49ers defense that could force him into forcing some throws to try and make something happen late in the game.

A bettor could find value in other Mahomes props that could bring them a return on their investments.

Best Brock Purdy Prop Bets

Patrick Mahomes already holds two Super Bowl championships and MVP awards under his belt; San Francisco 49er Brock Purdy wants to ensure Mahomes does not add another to his resume. Purdy finished strong in the 49ers comeback win over the Detroit lions last week and looks poised to have a breakout Super Bowl game.

Super Bowl betting markets provide hundreds of player props, and Brock Purdy’s props are plentiful. Here are my initial thoughts about some Brock Purdy props available for The Big Game.

Brock Purdy Over 245.5 Passing Yards (-110 Or Greater).

Purdy has already exceeded this figure twice during the playoffs, throwing for 252 yards against the Packers and 267 against the Lions respectively. But with such an aggressive Kansas City pass defense standing in his way, Purdy may face challenges to reach this target number.

Kansas City held down the fourth-best average for passing yards per game during the regular season at just 176.5 and has continued that performance in postseason play, holding Tua Tagovailoa to just 199 passing yards in the Wild Card Round and Josh Allen to only 186, both at third place respectively in Divisional Round play.

Lamar Jackson had 272 passing yards in the AFC Championship game with 39 attempts, which seems unlikely for Purdy as he has never attempted 40+ passes in a single-game.

Kansas City has made life hard on opposing quarterbacks all season, so I think Purdy is different though. He is a big moment guy and he will prove it in this game bet the over.

Brock Purdy Had Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-130 Or Greater).

San Francisco averaged 28.9 points per game this year, ranked third-most in the NFL. After struggling in the first half against the Detroit Lions, however, San Francisco quickly turned things around by scoring 27 second-half points to blow past Detroit’s secondary mistakes and showcase how fast San Francisco can score points.

Only Dak Prescott (36) and Jordan Love (32) threw more touchdown passes this season than Brock Purdy (31). Boasting an arsenal of weapons to throw to, Purdy is adept at quickly getting the ball into receiver’s hands quickly – with elite skill level pass-catchers capable of turning short 5-10 yard routes into 30-plus yard scoring plays.

Purdy has only managed one touchdown pass in each of San Francisco’s playoff games thus far, serving as starting quarterback only once without two or more touchdown passes in three consecutive games as a starting quarterback. If San Francisco wants to come away victorious from this contest, having Purdy throw for multiple scores increases their odds considerably. Still, I think CMC will get his, so I would bet the under on this bet.

Brock Purdy Will Win Super Bowl 58 MVP (+200 Or Better):

Purdy stands in second place to Patrick Mahomes as an MVP favorite at +200 on FanDuel Sportsbook, though Mahomes remains the overall favorite at +140.

Purdy has completed 61% of his passes for 519 yards and two touchdowns during two postseason games, proving himself as one of the league’s most efficient passers during regular season action. If Purdy can keep executing early and the 49ers win the game, his name could very likely come up during discussions of MVP.

QBs have won 32 out of 57 previous Super Bowl MVP awards; with San Francisco being an underdog by 1.5 points, +200 Purdy MVP odds could offer great value.

Best Christian McCaffrey Prop Bets

Christian McCaffrey has been the driving force in the San Francisco 49ers’ pursuit of Super Bowl 58.

CMC provides many Big Game player prop bet opportunities as the league leader in rushing (1,459 yards), scrimmage yards (1,556), total touchdowns (21) and Offensive Player of the Year award from the Pro Football Writers Association.

Here, we will focus on the standard McCaffrey props for the Feb. 11 Super Bowl (6:30 pm ET/CBS).

Christian McCaffrey Rushing Yards Over 89.5 (+100)

Since 2018, McCaffrey has run for 90-plus yards in 11 of 15 games where he played 63% or more offensive snaps.

Kansas City defense ranked near the middle of NFL packs, allowing an average of 86.9 rushing yards per contest from opposing running backs while facing only 19.0 attempts per game on average.

K.C. won a 17-10 AFC Championship Game victory against Baltimore with only six total carries (for 24 yards) by the Ravens’ running backs! Make no mistake the 49ers game plan will have plenty of runs for CMC.

Establishing the run keeps Patrick Mahomes where he is least dangerous and that’s on the bench.

Christian McCaffrey Super Bowl 58 Prop Bets: Over 4.5 Receptions (-134)

Christian McCaffrey posted his fifth-lowest reception total (67) this season but averaged at least four receptions in each game where he played more than 63% of offensive snaps in 2023.

That includes 11 receptions for 72 yards during two postseason contests.

Kansas City allowed only 75 running back receptions throughout its regular season – an average of 4.4 per game.

As Kansas City is known for their strong secondary, this could open the door for Brock Purdy to target McCaffrey with plenty of under-throws during Super Sunday games.

Christian McCaffrey Super Bowl 58 Prop Bets: To Score 2-Plus Touchdowns (+260 Or Better)

McCaffrey has found the end zone in 15 of 18 games this season, earning himself Super Bowl 58 anytime touchdown prop odds that range between -205 and higher at all major online sportsbooks.

CMC offers more attractive two-plus-TD odds.

And he’s accomplished it in seven games this season – scoring in each of San Francisco’s postseason wins!

Kansas City will present a difficult challenge in this game, allowing only 38 touchdowns across 20 games – which makes CMC’s multiple-TD prop worthwhile taking a gamble on.

Christian McCaffrey To Win Super Bowl 58 MVP (+475 Or Better)

McCaffrey stands as one of three players with aggregate Big Game MVP odds less than +1700, Patrick Mahomes (+135) and Brock Purdy (+200).

Quarterbacks have historically dominated the Super Bowl MVP award, winning 32 of 57 previous awards.

Running backs have won seven Big Game MVP awards; Terrell Davis of the Denver Broncos won most recently in Super Bowl 32 – further proof of the passing game’s increasing significance over this quarter century.

McCaffrey could be just the multi-talented back to end that positional drought and is well worth a wager at 4-to-1+ odds as an MVP prop flyer.

What Are Super Bowl Prop Bets?

A Super Bowl prop bet, also known as a proposition bet, is a type of wager that does not directly affect the outcome of the game. These types of bets allow for bettors to wager on tightly-contested matchups, focusing on specifics, rather than the final score. There are two main types of Super Bowl prop bet to consider – team and player props.

Game Super Bowl Prop Bets

Game props refer to occurrences, or non-occurrences, that happen throughout the course of the game that holds no relevance to the end result. For example, bettors could place a Super Bowl prop bet on whether the coin-toss will land on heads or tails. Here are just some of the game props that you’ll see for Super Bowl LVIII:

  • Will there be a touchdown scored from the kick-off?
  • How many sacks will there be?
  • Will a touchdown, interception or a field goal happen first?
  • Who will be the last to score?
  • Any team to score 30+ or 40+ points?

Team Super Bowl Prop Bets

Team props focus on the actions of a particular team but aren’t tied to the end game result. For example, sports bettors could opt to place a Super Bowl prop bet on which team will score the first touchdown. Here are some more team props that could be worth a look in this year’s Super Bowl:

  • Result of first drive
  • Which team will get the first score, touchdown or field goal?
  • Which team will be winning at the end of the first quarter or first half?
  • What will the total points of each team be?

Player Super Bowl Prop Bets

You guessed it – player props bets that are based on the performances and statistics of individual players in the Super Bowl. For example, Super Bowl bettors could place a bet on how many rushing yards Christian McCaffrey will make. Check out some of the most popular player prop bets below:

  • First touchdown scorer, last touchdown scorer, anytime touchdown scorer
  • Number of rushing yards, receiving yards, passing yards, field goal yards, sacks per player

Super Bowl MVP Betting

It’s also worth noting that lots of people like to bet on who the Super Bowl MVP will be. This means that you could bet on whether Patrick Mahomes will reign triumphant or whether someone like Brock Purdy could prove his doubters wrong. You may even be able to bet on who the Super Bowl MVP mentions first in their award speech. Check out our guide about how to bet on Super Bowl MVP for more about this popular betting market.

Exotic Super Bowl Prop Bets

One of the best things about the Super Bowl is the fact that it’s such a massive entertainment event that you can bet on things besides the game itself. Here are just some of the most popular exotic bets that you’ll find at all good online sportsbooks:

National Anthem Betting

This year, the national anthem will be sung by Reba McEntire, and you might be able to bet on how long the anthem lasts, what color hat the country singer is wearing, or even how long she drags out the word, ‘brave’.

Coin Toss

Arguably the most popular exotic prop bet and you could bet on whether it lands heads or tails, or whether the 49ers or the Chiefs win the coin toss.

Gatorade Color

It’s something of a tradition that the winning coach of the Super Bowl will be soaked with Gatorade, and now you can bet on what color it will be. It’s often been blue in the past, but Super Bowl LVIII might have a different batch color of yellow, green, orange or even purple.

Halftime Show Props

This year’s Super Bowl halftime show will be performed by Usher. Already many people are betting on what song he’ll perform first as well as what his first word will be or even what his outfit will be.

Celebrity Props

The Super Bowl always attracts plenty of celebrities and you can often bet on who will turn up to the sporting event. This year all eyes will be on whether Taylor Swift will attend to watch her partner, Travis Kelce, play for the Chiefs.

Commercial Props

You can even bet on which commercials get shown during the Super Bowl such as whether a Budweiser advert comes on before Heineken and so on.

The Super Bowl is the biggest sporting event across the US, offering plenty of great sporting moments, nail-biting performances, and betting opportunities.

As you’d expect, the top NFC team and the top team from the AFC are going to be fairly well-matched, meaning that deciding who is going to lift the Lombardi trophy is trickier to decide than normal in-season matchups. That’s without taking into account the pressures on the players during such a big event.

Thankfully, compared to traditional moneylines, spreads, and totals, Super Bowl prop bets provide bettors the chance to wager on an event that doesn’t directly link to the outcome of the fixture. Bettors can wager on the first TD scorer, how long they think the national anthem will last, and much more.

Not only do Super Bowl prop bets add variety, but they also offer some favorable odds, too. Of course, to ensure you are getting the best Super Bowl odds around, make sure you review our latest Super Bowl odds comparisons.

Alongside prop-specific promotions, bettors should also keep their eyes peeled for sizable welcome bonuses with that Bet365 Super Bowl promo being a great example of this. If the bonus is eligible for use across Super Bowl prop bets, and it ticks all of your other boxes, it could be worth switching sportsbooks in anticipation.

Regardless of which type of Super Bowl prop bet bonus you are looking for, ensure you make a qualifying deposit, input the promotional code, and read the small print very carefully before you begin Super Bowl betting online.
