We don’t have long before Super Bowl Sunday is here. So, to get you in the spirit of things, we’ve compiled this latest review detailing everything you need to know about Super Bowl betting online.
By the end of our Super Bowl betting online guide, you should know exactly what it takes to discover favorable odds, unlock cracking bonuses, and where to find a sportsbook that’s perfect for you. We also offer our top tips on what you should consider before placing that all-important Super Bowl bet.
All decent online sportsbooks will give you no shortage of odds and promos for Super Bowl LVIII. However, we have found that the following three sportsbooks can be counted on to give you a superior way to bet on the biggest game in football:
As perhaps the biggest sportsbook in the US, it should come as no surprise that FanDuel gives you a great way to bet on Super Bowl LVIII. After all, the brand has just unleashed a special big game promo offer that could give new customers $200 in bonus bets just for making a qualifying $5 bet.
But it doesn’t stop there because existing customers can also another FanDuel promo via the Kick of Destiny 2 promo that could see you winning a share of $10,000,000 in bonus bets if Ron Gronkowski kicks a field goal during the big game.
You can’t really talk about Super Bowl betting and not mention DraftKings. After all, it’s yet another market-leading US sportsbook that is available in a vast range of states across the nation. There’s an equally good Draftkings Super Bowl promo available here that also gives you $200 in bonus bets just for making that $5 qualifying bet.
From here you will get to enjoy a stunning range of betting lines for Super Bowl LVIII with plenty of Super Bowl prop bets to keep you entertained during the half-time break. Just note the fact that DraftKings is currently a little bare in terms of its Super Bowl promos for existing customers, but that’ll probably change soon.
Bet365 has slowly but surely been making its way into becoming perhaps the hottest new sportsbook in the US. The brand has UK origins but has revealed itself to be more than capable of putting on market-beating odds for all US sports including football.
What’s best is that Bet365 has just released its Super Bowl LVIII promo for new and existing customers. It’s a deal that will give you $5 in bonus bets for each touchdown scored in the big game and you just have to make a $50 qualifying parlay to get it. You can even make a $20 parlay and still get $2 in bonus bets for each touchdown. Perfect for getting rewarded for making the best Super Bowl parlay bets regardless of whether the 49ers or the Chiefs score.
The spread for this matchup opened with the 49ers as a one-and-a-half-point favorite at sportsbooks, but this line has now moved to two points up to 2.5 points. That point spread presents San Francisco with a 55.0% cover probability.
The Chiefs hope to become the first team in 19 years to capture back-to-back Super Bowls. Only eight Super Bowl champions have ever successfully defended their titles: 2003-04 Patriots, 1997-98 Broncos, 1992-93 Cowboys, 1988-89 49ers, 1978-79 Steelers (three times), 1974-75 Steelers (19 times) 1972-73 Dolphins and 1966-67 Packers are examples.
The 49ers currently rank second all-time with five Super Bowl victories from seven trips, but their glory days were long ago. Four of their wins occurred during the 1980s, and their most recent championship came when Kyle Shanahan was just 15 years old in 1994. They’ve come close over recent years, reaching three consecutive NFC Championship Games from and the closest they have come was losing to these same Chiefs a few years ago.
After Samuel’s impressive showing in the NFC Championship game, he may become a target for PFF second-team All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie – especially when operating out of the slot.
Samuel has proven to be one of the toughest players to bring down this postseason, forcing an unprecedented 0.62 missed tackles per touch – more than any player with at least five touches combined. Samuel often deploys from slot positions, where he has earned PFF’s 10th-highest receiving grade (83.6).
McDuffie has also excelled at defending the slot, earning the league’s highest coverage grade (89.5) when lined up inside. That grade can be partially attributed to his aggressive and sound approach to tackling, having committed only three missed tackles all year; one was missed last week against Baltimore. If McDuffie can just make the initial tackle and play within himself, he could slow down Deebo. If he doesn’t, Deebo will go off.
The Niners will look to take advantage of this trench matchup between Defensive Player of the Year Saffold Taylor and Chiefs right tackle Kawato Iwatani, as Taylor has allowed 56 pressures among offensive linemen through postseason action for a 6.8% pressure rate; his overall grade this postseason stands at just 41.0 overall grade which ranks 27th out of 28 qualifying tackles.
Edge rushers such as Bosa excel at exploiting these matchups. His 18.7% pash-rush win rate this postseason stands tied for second among edge rushing and marks his highest mark ever in his playoff career. Bosa will get the best of Taylor; the question will be how badly Bosa abuses Taylor. This battle can decide the game, if Taylor can’t hold up against Nosa Patrick Mahomes will have a difficult day.
Mahomes is widely considered the best Quarterback in the game and likely an early ballot Hall-of-Famer; yet, in 2023, he experienced one of his worst statistical seasons ever.
Mahomes has been elite since his first start in Kansas City. AA lot of the numbers issue and why there has been a downward trend in Mahones numbers would be loss of weapons over the last three years.
Mahomes’ greatness can’t be underestimated in the playoffs; he shines brightest under pressure. So far this postseason, Mahomes has completed 68% of his passes for 718 yards with four touchdowns against zero interceptions – an outstanding performance by any standard.
Brock Purdy may have been disregarded during the 2022 NFL Draft, yet he was an MVP candidate throughout most of this past season. Though still widely criticized as a ” game manager”, Purdy completed 69.4 per cent of his passes for 4,280 yards with 31 touchdowns and 11 interceptions this past year – an astounding accomplishment!
He may not win MVP, but he should receive enough votes to finish in the top 3. And in the playoffs, he has been near perfect, being picked off only once over two games! Granted, his success also benefits from an exceptional 49ers team around him, but he has proven he can lead, and if his team is behind in the fourth quarter, he has proven he can bring them back.
Christian McCaffrey, RB
Not only did he lead the league with 1,459 rushing yards and second among running backs with 14 touchdowns, but he was also second on his 49ers team with 67 receptions for 564 yards and seven scores – having gone 17 games without at least one score before his streak finally ended in November. McCaffery is the most exciting running back in the NFL and has the ability to put the 49ers on his back and win them the game.
Deebo Samuel, WR
He can be an even more lethal receiver than Aiyuk, evidenced by his eight catches for 89 yards in the NFC Championship Game, and is a versatile weapon in the 49ers offense. Not only did he catch 60 passes for 892 yards and seven touchdowns, but he also ran 37 times for 225 yards and five scores, thus making sure opponents know his presence on every play.
Brandon Aiyuk, 49ers
He ranked seventh in receiving yards (1,342) despite making 75 catches, boasting an incredible 17.9 yards per catch average – second only among NFL receivers! A lot of that came after the catch as one of his yards after catch was consistently one of the league’s premier big-play threats.
Isiah Pacheco, RB
Since taking over as Kansas City Chiefs RB1 midway through his rookie year, Pacheco has proven invaluable for Kansas City. Carrying the ball 205 times for 935 yards and seven touchdowns during regular season play. Nobody hits the hole harder than Pacheco, and his will to run makes him a handful to stop.
Travis Kelce, TE
Kelce struggled initially this season for the Chiefs offense. He finished the regular season with 93 catches for 984 yards and five touchdowns – his lowest total since 2015 when he finished below 1,000 receiving yards – but has shown why Patrick Mahomes loves targeting him, becoming his favourite target in three playoff games with 23 receptions for 262 yards and three scores.
Rashee Rice, WR
As the Chiefs’ wide receivers endured an unfortunate year — ranking first in the NFL with 22 dropped passes according to Next Gen Stats — rookie second-round selection from SMU has emerged as a shining light, becoming their future No. 1. Rice had 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns during regular season play, earning himself an MVP award from Next Gen Stats.
Last season, when Nick Bosa won Defensive Player of the Year with 18.5 sacks, their defense ranked No. 1. However, this season, they are still impressive: led by Bosa (10.5 sacks), they placed eighth overall while adding big defensive tackle Javon Hargrave in their middle reduced rushing yards per game (though Lions did gain 182). Cornerback Charvarius Ward and linebacker Fred Warner joined Bosa and Hargrave as Pro Bowlers from this strong 49ers defense.
The Chiefs have surely assembled their strongest defense since Patrick Mahomes took over at quarterback. They finished second in both points allowed (17.3) and yards allowed (289.7) per game in regular season DVOA rankings – indisputable evidence of excellence on defense.
Kansas City boasts two All-Pro players on defense in defensive tackle Chris Jones and slot cornerback Trent McDuffie, respectively. Additionally, L’Jarius Sneed – one of Kansas City’s underrated defenders is also a Pro Bowl talent- demonstrated by forcing a goalline fumble against Baltimore during their AFC Championship Game victory on Sunday.\
Kansas City must make stopping Christian McCaffrey and the 49ers’ run game their top priority; during regular-season play, Kansas City was unbeaten when holding opponents to less than 110 rushing yards per game.
Mahomes and Kelce will need to perform as they have on this stage in recent seasons, but defense has been the chiefs’ strength all season long. That unit may need to step up again against an all-time great running back like McCaffrey for one final time to bring home their fourth Super Bowl championship victory for Kansas City.
Teams have proven they can run against this Chiefs defense, so the 49ers need to play to their strengths in Super Bowl LVIII. Let McCaffrey lead both their run and passing games while Kyle Shanahan brings out creative sweeps and end runs over the next two weeks. Their run-first offense should continue – keeping Brock Purdy safe will help give them a chance.
They certainly possess the defensive prowess needed to contain what hasn’t been an especially impressive Chiefs offense, but their ticket to success lies with running the ball and eating up clock. The longer Patrick Mahomes stays off the field, the higher their chances are of victory.
This game will be similar to the one these guys played in the Super Bowl a few years ago. There are two huge differences from that game; the Niners have Purdy and McCaffery now, but they didn’t back then. I think McCaffery has a big afternoon, especially catching the ball out of the backfield. Quarterback Brock Purdy will need to make the plays at the end of the game that Jimmy G. could not make the last time these teams played in the Super Bowl.
Look for the Chiefs to start strong and take the lead into halftime. The Niner’s run game, and timely third-down passing from Brock Purdy led to a late win and cover for the 49ers. 49ers 27 Chiefs 23.
