MVP has been a hot topic, especially this season, with Lamar Jackson, Saquon Barkley and Josh Allen having big years. Maybe the best Quarterback this season has been Joe Burrow, and his streak over the last eight games has been unreal. Then I started watching the so-called experts at ESPN and many other outlets, and I discovered that Joe Burrow couldn’t win the MVP because his team is just 8-8 and may not make the playoffs. Indeed, great minds like Mina Kimes, Shannon Sharpe, and the race-baiting Ryan Clark know more about football than anybody else. Yes, wins may be the most important stat, but then I started looking at the NFL standings and discovered that Sam Darnold is the quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings. He has MVP numbers, so I started thinking that the Vikings must be a .500 team because nobody has mentioned Darnold for the MVP. I was shocked to discover that Daronld’s Vikings have already won 14 games! I looked at Josh Allen and his team only has 13, Lamar Jackson only has 11 wins, what the hell is going on here?
Darnold has thrown for more yards than Jackson or Allen and has a higher completion percentage. These stats from these players are amazingly equal, but after listening to everybody on television tell me that you have to have a lot of wins to be considered, I wondered how Lamar Jackson, with three fewer wins than Darnold, would even be considered for MVP with Darnold having 14 wins already.
Jackson and Allen started this season as two of the favourites to go to the Super Bowl. On the other hand, Darnold was considered JJ McCarthy’s backup or, at the very least, a placeholder for McCarthy. The Vikings were not supposed to be a playoff team. McCarthy got hurt, and Darnold took over the job, and now we are going to ignore the results?
Hell, after all of these dipshits like Adam Schefter still believe the Vikings future is McCarthy! Give me a break! When I said last year that the 49ers should keep Darnold over Purdy, people laughed at me; how is that turning out? Still funny?
Don’t get me wrongβJosh Allen and Lamar Jackson are elite quarterbacks. Joe Burrow is the best Quarterback in the NFL, but Sam Darnold has been the Most Valuable Player this season! If you are ruling out Burrow because of his team’s record, how do you ignore Darnold? That’s all I am saying.
